I want to copy an email, as I have always done, but there is no longer an option to do this. I have also tried to contact Constant Contact but the chat never opens and the phone calls doesn't get answered. I have been trying for several days.

Thanks, Jo

Hello everyone!

We apologize for any inconvenience caused from this Copy feature not being available on your legacy campaign. The ability to copy Legacy Newsletter templates has been disabled since we are moving forward with our updated editor and are dedicating resources to making this editor the best it can be. Because of this we would recommend recreating your template in our updated editor. This up-to-date editor does have the ability to be copied

Additionally, we have an article that specifically goes over some of the differences and similarities between the legacy editor and our current one. Feel free to peruse our Knowledge Base for other helpful guides, tutorial videos, tips, and basic troubleshooting assistance regarding the editor.

If you'd like some live, one-on-one guidance and screensharing, our friendly phone support staff would be happy to assist you while you make the transition. They can also collect info on what template(s) you'd like to have transposed into the current editor, or get an order written up if you'd like a wholly different, branded template created.

We welcome any feedback about this editor. If you would like to see a feature included, please leave your feedback here. This directly posts to our Get Feedback area where posts are read by the Product team. They use the feedback left by customers to make decisions on future feature updates based on what is getting the most volume. While we welcome your thoughts and comments here, it is best to post on that board so your feedback can be tracked easier.

Hello @KarenA25180

We are in the process of discontinuing the Legacy Editor. You can get more information on that here.

We still have the ability to create new email campaigns using our newer Third Generation Editor.

If you'd like assistance with the transition you can always call into our support team.

Hello @JanyneK280 ,

If you were still using the legacy editor, and you're no longer seeing Copy as an available function, you'll need to transition to the current, up-to-date email editor. I'd recommend taking a look at our Knowledge Base for its plethora of helpful articles to ease the transition to our current, mobile-friendly email builder. For starters, you may be interested in this article on transitioning between the two builders

If you'd like one-on-one guidance, our general support agents can work with you live on the phone to get started as well. You can also request to have your legacy template remade in the new editor by one of the professional designers, or to have an entirely new one created for a price.

Dear CC - Your recent decision to overhaul all old formats of the builder is understandable, but, you could do a better job at helping customers adjust. I called in yesterday and someone attempted to recreate my email template and did a minimal and horrible job. They never offered a link or video to learn how to adjust to the new operations etc. Moreover, if I needed to get out yesterday, didn't go out. I'm now trying to completely rebuild something that has taken months to make and feel like you've made this more complicated instead of improving on the builder. Its too limiting and once again, I can't get info out today or tomorrow because I can't figure out this new stuff. Please find a better, user-friendly way to transition customers when you make dramatic changes like this.

Hello @KrisHicks,
I understand your frustration on having to adjust to a new editor. We pride ourselves here as having excellent customer service and I'm sorry that we didn't provide you with better information. Here is a link that shows how to adjust from the older editor to our current version. It also has a link to a video tutorial at the beginning, as well as side by side screen shots to help understand the changes better. Please contact us if you have any specific issues or need help on how to do specific options within the new editor.

This so called new editor has features I don't need and do not care.  Wordpress changed to a new editor but they still allow the legacy editor and legacy posts can be modified.  Are you all incompetent or what?

I enjoyed the option of copying my Legacy email and I am looking for a similar type since the copy option is unavailable. I create an "eNews" for my UU Fellowship every week, we are not selling a product, I am informing folks about what is happening with our events. All of the templates I tried are geared to selling, I can't easily add blocks like before and the pictures cannot be centered or sized like before. HELP!!!

BTW, I DID try chatting, I spent half and hour, got bounced back and forth between "assistants" and they do not know your product. I, too, am doing this from home.

I am not trying to sell a product, just get information out to my UU Fellowship, I need a straight, single column, blank template that I can add blocks as needed, not ads.

Hello @MaryC2,

I understand how frustrating it can be to have to learn a new process for editing/making emails. Once you have created the new newsletter once in the new editor, you will be able to copy it like before. When creating a new email in the new editor, on the template picking page there is a search option at the top. If you search "Newsletter" it will show you a half dozen templates specifically designed towards newsletters, including a Basic Newsletter that contains no pictures.
To help with the transition from the Legacy editor to our new one, here is a link to an article that describes the differences and even has side by side screen shots to compare how it is done in each editor. It even includes a video tutorial option.
We also have representatives that can help you learn the new editor process and can be reached by phone or chat here.

The only reason I have not switched to is that I did not want to recreate templates.  Now you force me to switch since I have to recreate them anyway.  What a bunch of incompetent uncaring idiots.  Now i can cancel and save money

What did you do to the Copy function in the Campaign tab. I've done it for years, and now I can't make a editable copy of an old Campaign. Really frustrating and a terrible change to your functionality.

Hello @SpencerD3,

I understand that it can be frustrating saying goodbye to an editor that you've gotten comfortable with. We are retiring our Legacy editor so that our developers can focus on making the 3rd Generation Editor the best it can be! We also have an easy way to recreate your current template in the new editor to simplify the switch for you. If you run into any problems or questions while using the newer editor, please let us know!

I agree with Spencer.

This functions saved me hours of work.  The new function you suggest is just a version of "starting from scratch"

I've been copying the previous month's email campaign and making changes to the template for the new month's campaign. This month that option isn't available. What can i do? I'm in urgent mode. Since i wasn't aware that this feature has been discontinued until just now - I won't be able to meet this month's e-newsletter deadline. A first for me in my career. I'm so FRUSTRATED!!!

Thank you for your reply Zoe. It seems to me that it would have been simple for C.C. to keep this feature while updating the editor. It screwed me over - but luckily I have a fantastic and wonderful graphics designer who assisted me on her day off to recreate the template. She was the true hero of my day.

This is terrible that I can't copy my previous email, you are causing me so much more work. I don't understand how to get around this without recreating a whole new email. I will have to rethink using constant contact if this is how its going to be.

Hi Zoe,

I agree with all the above comments about needing the ability to copy previous campaigns and changing photos or dates, etc. They have added a bunch of stuff I will never use and deleted a feature I used every few weeks. WHY???

Caitlin_M

Hi @CynthiaL82. What feature were you using in our Legacy editor that is not available to you now? I want to make sure your feedback is tracked properly and sent over to our teams.

Please do NOT end legacy emails. I read the "why" and I don't care about a few display bugs. I have years of work saved in legacy form and desperately need to reuse them. I HATE the new format and can't do half of what's necessary. You will cripple my efforts if I can't copy legacy format.

Same story here. We have been a customer a long time and that is about to end. The copy function is totally gone.

I want to just use my format for the newsletter. I do not see how I can repeat this format this month. I have pay a lot of money to this website I want to speak with someone about the ugly options offered now.
