I want to copy an email, as I have always done, but there is no longer an option to do this. I have also tried to contact Constant Contact but the chat never opens and the phone calls doesn't get answered. I have been trying for several days.
Thanks, Jo

Hello everyone!
We apologize for any inconvenience caused from this Copy feature not being available on your legacy campaign. The ability to copy Legacy Newsletter templates has been disabled since we are moving forward with our updated editor and are dedicating resources to making this editor the best it can be. Because of this we would recommend recreating your template in our updated editor. This up-to-date editor does have the ability to be copied.
Additionally, we have an article that specifically goes over some of the differences and similarities between the legacy editor and our current one. Feel free to peruse our Knowledge Base for other helpful guides, tutorial videos, tips, and basic troubleshooting assistance regarding the editor.
If you'd like some live, one-on-one guidance and screensharing, our friendly phone support staff would be happy to assist you while you make the transition. They can also collect info on what template(s) you'd like to have transposed into the current editor, or get an order written up if you'd like a wholly different, branded template created.
We welcome any feedback about this editor. If you would like to see a feature included, please leave your feedback here. This directly posts to our Get Feedback area where posts are read by the Product team. They use the feedback left by customers to make decisions on future feature updates based on what is getting the most volume. While we welcome your thoughts and comments here, it is best to post on that board so your feedback can be tracked easier.
Hello @CarolD574 ,
I'd recommend taking a look at our Knowledge Base for its plethora of helpful articles to ease the transition to our current, mobile-friendly email builder. For starters, you may be interested in this article on transitioning between the two builders. The current builder’s emails can be copied.
If you'd like one-on-one guidance, our general support agents can work with you live on the phone to get started as well. You can also request to have your legacy template remade in the new editor by one of the professional designers, or to have an entirely new one created for a price. If you’re unable to call in, you can also submit a form directly to our designers to have a template converted.
I feel very frustrated!! I just sent out a Legacy email campaign (and have sent dozens w/ Legacy template in the past).
I now want to copy it with some edits, but that is now impossible....? I have a travel business and change dates and photos on campaigns so I don't have to start over completely.
Somehow I missed the news that LEGACY emails would no longer be supported??? I spend HOURS getting the fonts and color blocks and photos looking great, and now it's all gone?????
HELP!!! I am willing of course to change templates or whatever on future emails, but NEED some of those older campaigns so I can copy and edit with new dates and photos, same text.
Thanks very much!
Cynthia

Hi. I am working on my department's monthly newsletter. I just realized that I cannot copy my newsletter from legacy and now have to use the third generation editor. I have been trying for hours now and it seems like I have to literally recreate EVERYTHING on my newsletter. Monthly I just copy it over and delete/add blocks as needed but for the most part it's simple because I just edit the blocks to our monthly specifications. This will take me HOURS to recreate from scratch - please tell me I do not have to do this!!!
Hello @HallmarkHealthPHOInc,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! Every time you copy an email created in the legacy editor, the HTML code behind that email continues to build until it starts to cause display issues. While things might be working fine today, in a few weeks or months of copying that template, you might start to notice that things aren't displaying correctly in email clients, maybe things aren't dragging around your template as smoothly, or maybe even receive a few error messages. Emails created with the legacy editor also may not display properly on mobile devices. Because it's becoming increasingly more popular to view emails on-the-go, all the email templates in our third-generation editor are mobile-responsive, ensuring your emails look great on any device. For these reasons, we've made the decision to turn off the ability to copy older, outdated email templates. Click here to see how to get a head start in recreating your email! Thanks.
NO Zoe,
That didn't answer my question at all. The "answer" you provided is what I've already read. What I need help is creating my newsletter with the content from previous newsletters so I don't have to recreate the wheel. I need to know how to start off as our first section also contained links to each feature in the newsletter - so the reader could just click on the link and go right to the blurb instead of scrolling the entire newsletter. These are the answers I need - not the reasoning why legacy emails are now incapable of being copied.
Hello @HallmarkHealthPHOInc,
Unfortunately, due to anchor links not being mobile responsive, we don't have the option to use them anymore. You can always copy and paste content from one past newsletter to the new one or you can also give our support team a call about getting Professional Services done so your formatting can be the same as it was before.
Same problem here, and reading between the lines, there's no elegant solution. The system changed, we didn't get a heads-up email for whatever reason, and now I'll be working late with Constant Contact instead of starting my long weekend -- neat.
I apologize if the change in the editor was a surprise. It was our intention to alert the account owner that the change was coming. My apologies if that email did not happen.

Or if you find a particular section difficult to recreate, we do have an article that goes of some of the differences and similarities between the two editors.

So a while back CC made our old templates disappear, but I didn't worry because I could just copy an old email. Until tonight. ??!!
I make emails for a school PTSA - I'm sitting down tonight to edit one for Sunday morning, and there's nothing to use?
What on earth is CC thinking! I am welcome to "use our new editor to create exciting emails". What the heck were you thinking CC??????
Hello @DawnO6 ,
The legacy email builder has been fully retired, meaning it can no longer be used for new creations (as was the case dating back to 2017), nor for copies and additional edits (as of 2020). I've been doing these emails for years. Always logged into Constant Contact, copied my template from the last mailing, then created a new email with that template. Now it looks like I have to go through the whole process of creating a new template? What up with that?

Hello @BobOK ,
It looks like the email you're trying to copy is using the retired legacy email editor, so you won't be able to copy it at all. You can see this labelled below the template's name. Any email you've made with just "Email" beneath it, will be able to be copied and edited. I'd advise copying one of those other bulletins, and using them for your latest email. Otherwise if you need that 144 specifically, you'll simply need to rebuild it from scratch using the current editor.
