How can I revert to the Legacy version? The drag and drop modules don't seem to allow access to the html. I don't object to the modules, but I do find there are some tweaks that can't be made without access to the code. And no, I don't want to have to create the entire email via html, which seems to be the only choice. Anyone found a workaround? Thanks
If you'd like to continue using your old legacy campaigns, your best option is to simply copy one of your older legacy templates. The copy will retain the same editor that the original email was created in.
Modifying the HTML can often lead to unexpected display issues in some email clients, especially on mobile devices, so we're trying to include as many options as possible in a mobile-friendly manner. If you let us know what changes are you trying to make that aren't currently possible without HTML, I'll be happy to pass those ideas on to our Design Team.
Thanks for replying! I have been copying old emails, and that works as many of our emails are retreads. I do like the option of being able to include newer templates, so I’ll let you know where I’m finding that I need html to add/edit features.

I will warn you that unless you are super-talented at all this, using the legacy email format for emails these days will give all sorts of unintended results. Backgrounds change colors, the previews don't accurately reflect what is delivered, code shows behind blocks that have quasi-transparent images, and such. From experience, the end result is better if you can force yourself to just slowly rework your emails in the newest latest greatest (but not necessarily best) editor.
We lost about two years' worth of rotating emails - well, didn't lose, but decided not to risk using them any more - and have had to develop them as needed this year.
Also, yes, please, bring back the HTML editor. At the very least, let us size pictures with dimensions!
Your warnings are exactly some of the reasons we do suggest moving to the newer editor whenever possible. I've tracked your request for better control of images sizes in the new editor as well. If there's other ideas of what you feel is needed in the new editor, then definitely let us know, we're always happy to pass on those requests to the proper team!
I have just started to manage a second CC email marketing for a sister company and would like to be able to use the legacy email features which are not available in the new account. I cannot copy a legacy email from the old account to use. I am capable of using the HTML editor and use it all the time in Account 1. I would like to use it in Account 2, so how do I go about it?
The reason is that we sell parts .. Account 1 is retail .. The new Account 2 is wholesale .. the email marketing that we do comprises of many different and varied parts that get mixed and matched depending on what we are pushing at the time. It was very convenient for me to copy the html from a block and then reuse it again when necessary without having to recreate the block from scratch and go through the long list of images to find the one needed .. we sell over 20,000 parts!
Please is there any way I can have the legacy feature in the new Account 2?
Thank you for reaching out to the Community with this feedback. I apologize for any inconvenience cause from not having access to your email's HTML in our Third Generation Editor. However at this time we are have no immediate plans for adding this access. Instead we are in the process of adding features that can accomplish the same goals through editing your HTML. With that said, there is also not a way to give access to our Legacy Newsletter Emails in accounts that do not already have access to it. Have you tried creating a master template? You can even copy a specific block and move it to the correct location instead of recreating it from scratch. Copying a block allows you to reuse the same section set-up throughout your email.
Thanks for your reply .. I can't see how creating a master template would help, how can I copy several blocks from several different campaigns to the one email each time?
In the Legacy Emails I create a block and then copy and save the html to a separate file for each of the different 'parts' ads, then for the next campaign I could simply copy a previous email campaign, edit the blocks and replace the html with the ones I need for that campaign, no need to re-replace images and re-link urls and re-write text etc. Like I said, this saved me heaps of time.
I really don't understand how I can have access to legacy in one account and not in the other .. anyway it just makes my life more difficult for me, and that seems to be the way of things .. disappointed
Creating a master template can help if you create your different blocks within that one email. Doing this allows you to have access to the same blocks no matter the campaign. You can copy the master template, edit specific details in the campaign, and send to your contacts. Having the ability to copy a block from one template to another is a great feature request we have submitted to the appropriate teams.
As for access to the Legacy Templates, it sounds like one of your accounts was created when this system was still available. Any account created during this time had the Legacy Templates grandfathered over when the new Third Generation Editor was created. But any account created when the Third Generation Editor is available will not have access to this older editor. I hope this information helps!
