Line spacing

Line spacing

I am using a template but find I cannot adjust the spacing beween lines.  There is often way too much space between lines of a paragraph-- it looks double-spaced or more.  I have tried changing the font size, but nothing seems to work.  (As a graphic designer, this is important, as it looks amateurish the way it is....)

Hi everyone,

Thank you all for sharing your feedback on this feature. You now have the ability to control line spacing in the Third Generation Editor! When working in a text block you can change the spacing between your lines of text. Your choices of spacing are single, 1.2, 1.5, or double line spacing.

Hello @KarenB094. I'm sorry that you were having trouble changing the line spacing in your campaign. You are using our third-generation editor which does not have the ability to adjust line spacing at this time. What I can suggest is that you can do a soft return (one line return) by pressing Shift+Enter (Windows) or Shift+Return (Mac). I will put in feedback regarding your request to adjust line spacing and I also encourage you to leave your own feedback on our Feedback and Ideas board

This issue needs immediate attention. This is such an important aspect of the visual impact of an email - we HAVE to be able to edit the spacing between paragraphs. Is the patch for this bug in the works?

Hi @iMapSSI,

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing the same line spacing issue. I will definitely take your feedback and get it through the right channels. Our dev team does want to hear what features are being requested for this editor, and I know this one is a highly anticipated change. I thank you for your valuable feedback, and appreciate you reaching out to the Community for your request!

Still no fix for this? I talked to someone on the phone about this a year ago.

Constant Contact is great for so many things, but when it comes to fine tuning design related details, like line spacing and incorporating commonly used Google fonts along with web fonts, unfortunately CC isn't ahead in thought.  How soon can we expect for these features to be added?  I personally liked the 2Gen version because at least I could edit a few things in HTML, but I can't do this here without fully writing code. Help please....this makes me want to switch to another provider that has some of these design fundamental functions.

Thanks.

Hello @JaniceC645. I can understand why you would want access to the HTML in the third-generation editor in order to adjust your line spacing. While I can't provide any additional information about the request for this feature, I assure you that our developers are listening to your feedback and I will be sure to put this feedback in your account to send over to them.

Let's get back to where we can adjust html in the pre-designed templates. The single space text looks awful. Need to control how things look!

Hello @GaryM33370,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I will be sure to submit this request to the appropriate teams and hopefully, we can make a future change if there is enough demand. For now, if you still have any campaigns that were created in the legacy editor you are welcome to copy these campaigns and use them. Keep in mind that they will not have any of the new features, nor will they be mobile responsive.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

I'm new to constant contact and have to say: As you read this, you are viewing well-executed line spacing. Your messages of reassurance are better evoked because of the softness and nuance of this font, and the LINE SPACING.

Hey @PublicAgenda,

Thank you for your feedback! You make a great point, a message is stronger with the desired line spacing. I will be sure to share all this feedback with our team. As stated previously, when emails are sent to mobile devices those line spaces will no longer be where you positioned them. That is why it currently isn't offered, but it maybe in the future! Please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or concerns.

Please fix this issue as soon as possible. I will be using the workaround, however it has been an issue and I am sure even more designers are disappointed.

Thank you!

Hi there- any updates for us? Increasing font size is just not a feasible solution. This is very surprising to me (as others have stated) to not offer this along with point size and alignment. I can't believe that Microsoft Word has this, and Constant Contact doesn't. Having a footer on an email that is 8pt, but looks like it has 24pt leading makes me hesitant to send the email out (footer has links) and makes me cringe.

Hey @CrownFiber,

Thank for reaching out!

We are still reviewing this feature request and we do not have any further updates at this time. I apologize for any frustrations that this has caused. If you would like, we can send you an email once this feature becomes available. Simply email your contact information and Constant Contact username to social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com. Please also include a brief mention of this post. In the meantime, please let us know if you have additional questions.

Have a great rest of your day!

We would like this feature as well. I wish I could just add in the HTML for it myself. You wouldn't even have to "develop" a fix.

Hey @HollyM248,

Thank you for posting your feedback to the Community!

I will pass this along on your behalf. In the meantime, please let us know if you have additional questions.

Just starting our 60-day trial on CC, moving from a website-based emailer with full source code editing.

The lack of a line-height option might just be a deal-breaker. I see this has been in development for a ridiculous length of time. Is there any possibility it will be implemented soon? Is there any possible workaround in the meantime?

I can write HTML but the whole point of moving to CC from a code editor is to get this off my plate and into the hands of someone else, regrettably someone who needs WYSIWYG and drag-and-drop.
