Linked document shows up as an attachment in later emails

I send out weekly emails for a church parish by copying the previous week's email and then updating it with new announcements, pictures, etc.  My problem is that for just one of the weeks, I included a link to a document but then removed that link for the next week, but the document still shows up as an attachment when my audience views their list of incoming emails the next week. 

How do I get rid of this linked document, short of starting a whole newly-created email?

I checked your last few emails created, and I'm seeing the same document linked to the main image at the top of each email. Is this the document you're trying to remove? If so, then you can click on the image in the editor, and then click the hyperlink button in the toolbar to remove or edit it.
