LinkedIn connection with Constant Contact

Hi everyone:

There has to be a solution to this I just know it!  I want to share a campaign on social media namely  LinkedIn.  Constant Contact asks you to link these accounts by entering the user and pass for LinkedIn.  BUT company pages on LinkedIn do not have a user and pass.  The company page is created and the existing Linked In user connects to it by becoming a page administrator.  I really want to be able to use the tracking/reporting that Constant Contact provides because it is SO much better.  But when I shared my first campaign it posted to my personal feed and not the company's feed.  Ideas?

Hi @TimothyF

Thanks for bringing your question to the community! As it is now, Social Share does not currently support the ability to post your campaigns to LinkedIn company pages. We do have an open Feature Request for this ability, and I've tracked your interest and set up an automatic notification to go out if our engineers decide to implement this functionality.

In the meantime, the best way to post your campaigns to your LinkedIn company profile is with the Share URL. You can get the Share URL by clicking the "Link" icon next to the name of a sent campaign. You can then post that URL normally to any social media site you like.

Nate you're a life saver!  I have been trying everything thinking it must be simple and I was just missing something.  Yes I do know how to post the link and will do that.  I just love your reporting so that is a drag.  I'm sure you guys will figure it out!  Thank you!

Please figure this out soon!  It would be MUCH easier....

Hi @BMRB,

Thank you for reaching out to us through the Community. We do appreciate your feedback and request regarding this feature. I have tracked the request to your account to notify our developers. In the meantime, you should still be able to manually post the URL to the company page. To do this:

1. Click Campaigns

2. Locate your email campaign and click on the paperclip/link icon next to the campaign

3. Copy the URL

4. Go to the LinkedIn Company page and paste the URL

I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please let us know if you need assistance with anything else.

That's helpful. Can you help further? When I paste the link, I would think that the subject line for the newsletter would appear as the headline in the graphic, but not so. I get this graphic:

SnipFrLinkedIn.JPG

WSU in the News is a link in the newsletter, but it's not what I want showing, as I'd like the subject line of the newsletter to show. Can I get that?

Hi @WSU-EPD

I’m glad to hear the information shared in this thread was helpful for you! I also apologize your subject line isn’t showing on this LinkedIn post. I can definitely understand how important it is for the correct information to display for your readers. How are you sharing this campaign onto your LinkedIn page? Are you sharing the permanent link for your campaign or the Social Share Toolbar in the header of your email? Having these details can help us troubleshoot this further for you.

Hello, is there any update to being able to social share to LinkedIn Company pages, other than copying and pasting the link manually?

Hi @LindsayM4

Thank you for reaching out to the Community about your Social Share! At this time there is no currently updates on this feature availability. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We do not have a timeline for this particular feature request as there are many factors that are used to decide what is added to our product. We have however submitted this feature request in your account to the appropriate teams.

It's now 2020 and you had a feature request in 2 YEARS AGO and this still isn't possible? This should have been a native feature immediately, how is this still not possible? Your dev department is more than 2 years behind on feature requests? This should be a top priority, social sharing is the lifeblood of newsletters and information sharing in B2B...

Seriously?? This problem has been raised more than a year ago, and you aks people to vote for "solution accepted" when you "solution" is:

No Can Do?

For anyone in B2B this is a very serious missing piece of functionality.

Hello @bryanm771 ,

I can understand how the ability to post to the business page on LinkedIn would be important, especially for B2B companies. At this time there is no ETA on an update to allow this. There are many factors to making a change like this happen, especially with bridging between 2 independent companies' programs. When and if if our engineers are able to implement this functionality, we will notify everyone when it will be available.

Until CC figures out what people have been asking for 2+ years...

Here is a workaround to post your campaign on LinkedIn - not perfect but it will get the message to your followers:

1. Click the print/download button next to your sent campaign.

2. Play with the page size/ scale until it looks decent on 1-2 pages.

3. Download it to pdf

4. Fix any links that broke during the conversion (mostly photos that have links will be broken) - you will need prof adobe acrobat to do this

5. Upload to LinkedIn as a 'document' - it will show image of your email and your followers can download it and view as a pdf

Hi @AngelaM628

Thanks for sharing the workaround you've been using! There are many factors that are used to decide what is added to or updated in our product which can cause us to sometimes not have a timeline for when a feature like this will be available. It's also important I point out using our templates outside of our system is against our terms and conditions. This is why we suggest sharing your campaign's permanent URL instead of the image version itself.

Two years out and I still can't add LinkedIn to my Social page.  Why is Instagram more important to business than LinkedIn?  Maybe it's just because nobody actually does anything but answer with "I'm sorry, we're looking into this".

#epicfail

Hello @JasonC0736 ,

Is this regarding the Social Share tool for campaigns, the Social Post tool, or your social media buttons?

You do have the ability to connect LinkedIn profiles to social media buttons, as well as Social Share to personal LinkedIn pages. The LinkedIn for the fairly new Social Posts tool is currently being developed.

If you're needing to connect a LinkedIn business page to Social Share, that is something we are indeed still looking into. The API permissions for LinkedIn business pages and personal pages are much different and thus require different types of negotiation and development. We've tracked your request and submitted your case to our engineers, who will notify you if and when this is developed.

I want to follow up on this as it's becoming a growing pain for us to not be able to share content with our LinkedIn groups (company page). You have been looking into it for 3 years.  Please better explain why the LinkedIn company page can not be used for constant contact's Social Share, which is designed for that needs.
