More control over taxes in store

Hello,

We provide a product to a religious customer base and at least half of our customers are tax exempt churches. We currently have automatic taxes enabled and would like to keep it that way. My question is, is there a way to modify the store to allow the customer to select tax exempt at checkout?

Thanks,

Joey

Hello @EHT101 ,

You can toggle on and off sales taxes for your products in the store's settings, but there isn't really a way for customers to mark whether or not they're tax-exempt, let alone prove it through the store. You'd either need to charge taxes for everyone that checks out, or charge no one taxes.

You could charge taxes, and then send out an X% discount code specifically to email addresses of the institutions as a potential alternative.

If this store is predominantly available through a site built in the Website Builder, then you may wish to reach out to their support, to see if they have any additional insight regarding the online store and the automated sales text calculators.
