I recently installed the official Constant Contact Wordpress plugin. When I set up my form, the WP tool pulldown didn't allow me to choose the full set of field options... only a select few (Phone number, address, Job Title, Website, Custom text field, custom text area).
To get up and running so I can include "City" in my form, I had to create a new custom form field called "City2" to capture that. But of course, in my CC contacts database, I now have two columns for City. Can you help me figure out how to get this fed from WP form into the City column directly
Hello again @JakeM429 ! I can understand how important it is to be able to segment your customers by City. At this time, WordPress does not have all the field options that we offer in Constant Contact however this is a feature request that we are tracking! With that being said, I appreciate you coming to the community and expressing that this is a feature you'd like to have in the WordPress integration.
I will certainly track this and add you to the list of those who would like to have this feature, please let us know if there is any other features you'd like to add!
I am building a membership form for a social organization. We have the typical demographics section as well as about 25 custom fields set up in Constant Contact. There are several date fields in Constant Contact but the only option in WordPress is "Text". We need to be able to save dates in date fields. Do all of the Custom Text Field entries in WordPress create new Custom Fields in Constant Contact? If so, that is an extremely cumbersome interface.
Also, we track volunteer interest and skills to be able to ask for volunteers for different needs. Some of our members have many skills that they are willing to offer. Is there a way to set up a "Check all that apply" list or does each opportunity have to have it's own field thereby dis-allowing us to create a "Required" field option (every member is required to volunteer in at least one area)?
I can understand how important it is to easily and correctly track your contact details! At this time the Constant Contact API V2 does not pass on the names of custom fields. Instead the forms will pass custom field information into Custom fields 1-15. Having the ability to match and import named custom fields you've created on a WordPress Form is a feature request we are collecting feedback on. A workaround users have done is exporting all data and re-importing it into the named custom fields periodically to make sure it is categorized correctly. I apologize for any inconvenience this experience or workaround may cause.
