Hi LisaS2058!
Thanks for reaching out to the Community! You asked a lot of questions, so I will address each one:
Can I just post a pop up form?
You can create a popup form and instal it on your website
Where will it go?
The code is usually installed in the footer of your website.
Does it have to go to a landing page?
The pop-up is its own signup form, and does not need to be connected to another form. Once created and installed on your website it will pop up as people visit your website
What about the sign-up form?
We have a few ways people can subscribe to your list
I have not been able to upload a document that is accepted. Why?
The most common reason for a document not uploading is usually file size. You will be unable to upload images or documents larger than 5kb. Without knowing they type of file, file size, and if you are getting an error, I can not fully answer why
I don't understand what I need to do to get this to work.

Are you both only for landing pages?
I am unsure what you mean by this question
I already have a contact form on my website. Please explain both to me
- A contact form is used by visitors to your website who want to contact you, or ask a question. The form is usually connected to your email address so you can see the submissions. It does not collect contact information, and people using the form are not consenting to be added to your email marketing list
- A signup form is used to obtain the email address and consent of people who wish to hear from you via email
