I see that support was in my account. I solved the problem of not being able to link my email to LinkedIn. It was because the browser I was inadvertently using was Edge. Works fine in my normal Firefox and Chrome.

If true, it would be helpful if this was made painfully obvious to new users. I wasted a ton of time trying to resolve what I was doing wrong. My initial googling had indicated Microsoft Edge WAS a supported browser.
FYI - my issue (social media url paste didn't save) was similar solved by help desk inserting url in same manner
I am using Microsoft Edge 44.18362.449.0 Microsoft EdgeHTML 18.18363 on up to date Window 10 Home, version 1909, OS build 18363.836
Double checked just now, this from help centre list of supported browsers:
Microsoft Edge - We currently support version 15 and higher. Only our Third-Generation email editor is supported in Edge; our Second-Generation email editor is not supported. Microsoft's Edge browser is periodically updated during a Windows update. Visit Microsoft's support to check or update your Edge version.
