Beginning approximately November 2019, we began seeing a huge spike in bounce rates.  Where previously they had hovered in the 2-4% range.  Now we are consistently seeing rates in the 20-30% -- even going as high as 89% in some campaigns.


Drilling into the data, the spike seems solely due to excessive "Other" bounces.  Rates for Undeliverables, Non-existent and Blocked are pretty much unchanged.


Any idea why the sudden surge?  Is is a reporting error?  A reporting process change?  An external factor like CCPA?

There has to be some kind of explanation.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community about your email campaigns! I can understand how important it is for your emails to successfully deliver to your contacts. I apologize you are seeing high bounces rates like the ones you have described. With that said, your campaign with a high percentage of 81% is due to a small sending list. However other campaigns with a large bounce rate do not seem to have common factors like a specific domain. Because of this I would suggest calling into our Deliverability Specialists directly. These support agents can help look further into these campaigns or any other contacts that may be bouncing in your account.
