The recent major update has made the creating of email campaigns nearly impossible. Anything having to do with text is very challenging. Anything typed takes a VERY LONG time to fill in. The letters come in with several seconds between each one. Instead of a sentence just flowing, it takes 10+ seconds for each word to show up and a full sentence probably takes a minute or more to show up. I cannot go on to another place because if I move the cursor elsewhere the text starts showing up there, so I just have to wait while the text fills in. Adjusting the font size is erratic and at times doesn't do what I need. Changing colors for the background isn't working properly and at time the color for text or background in a particular section changes by itself to something totally different. Bullets disappear at random and won't come back right away if I try to adjust it... I could go on, but I hope there is an update coming soon!
Final Update 10/25/22 - Hi everyone. Thank you for your patience while we were wrapping up some additional testing for our fix. This morning the fix for typing slowness was released for all accounts. Fast typists should no longer notice a severe (3-4 second) lag before their text shows up. If you are still experiencing that long of a lag, please try restarting your browser.
I think it is time for Constant Contact to come clean about this and tell us what happened and what they are doing about it.
So far, many new people are posting their grievances about this and we have gotten no real response other than the typical canned responses. Not even any "damage control".
It just comes across like CC is just ignoring this problem and letting the people who are having the issue walk because it would take too much effort and expense to solve the problem.
The last response here was a month ago. And that response was just a repeat of the same question that was asked two times before. We were initially told that it was "not a common problem", then they acknowledged they were able to duplicate the problem and then stopped responding while half a dozen new people posted about this issue. And yet, no solution, no statement, no explanation.
CC has pretty much abandoned us and moved on.
Start getting refunds, folks. This is NOT what we are paying for. Constant Contact has a real serious situation and their lack of communication shows us exactly how much of a priority they think this is.
I have the same problem plus it does not enter the space between words so you have to go back and do it on every single word. They changed the format without having the courtesy to tell us and obviously haven't bothered to test it themselves. . Also it does not allow me to change the email address from which I send my newsletters. Finally a service like this should have reps available 24/7.
How amazing is it that the support community text box works perfectly?
Irony in action!
Anyway, a possible work around while CC fixes this is as follows:
What I am doing is setting up the structure and fields of the email and adding in pictures and such. Then, I am typing up the text of the email in microsoft word and cutting and pasting into the email and then editing and formatting etc...
Not optimal, and def not for the price we are paying, but should keep us all in business while CC goes ahead and fixes this. Oh, and we should all get 50% discount because of this issue affecting our productivity.
I cannot cut or paste either. It's incredibly frustrating to type out urls that are random letters/numbers.
Hello
Anyone having issue with the new changes in CC?
The text is delayed and the text box keeps pooping to the top when you are using it?
It is taking me twice as long to compose an email?
Hello @AngelaM2354,
I apologize that you are having this experience! We are aware of this issue and are currently looking into what is causing it. We recommend creating a new email campaign from scratch or switching browsers at this time.
This new format is beyong frustrating!
It is slow, things that worked well before either don't work or are impossible to figure out.
Help!!
What can I do?
Getting anyone on line is next to impossible 7 when you do all they can do is do it for
me but not explain what is going on
Please Please can we go back to the old format.
It worked, this doesn't!
Hi folks - Sorry for the lack of updates. We've been gathering info and doing some internal testing. I can confirm we have this raised with the appropriate product team and it's being investigated. We'll update this thread with the next available update.
That's all well and good, Kyle. But the reality is that your response is still pretty vague.
You present no workaround. No solutions. No ideas about how we can weather this until it is fixed.
Very disappointing.
You guys have a big issue here and until it is fixed, many of us will lose a ton of money.
Has anyone else read this and thought "Why does this sound exactly like a Dilbert comic?"
"We'll give status reports until the problem is solved or you stop complaining about it"
Hi -
We've experienced the same issues with text and the lag in working with images. It took the us almost twice as long to create a campaign as it used to. It's been so bad there is consideration of changing to another application.
Doesn't make any difference with browser or computer...nothing has changed with either.
We are having the same problem with unprecedented delays in entering text, slowness and lagging.
Between last night and today, an update to Constant Contact apparently hit for me. As of today, I cannot insert photos into my emails because I cannot get the library to even load when I hit "replace". This happened to my coworker as well. I have no other windows or programs running. I have tried on multiple internet connections. The last time I let it spin for almost 10 minutes before it timed out. Please help!
My update hit yesterday. While in my Library I can see all my subfolders. However, when I am editing my email and try to add an image, I can see my folders, but no sub-folders. That isn't acceptable.
Constant Contact, do something about this! It has been at least a month!
Start issuing credits and refunds until it is fixed! Enough is enough!
Just wanted to chime in that I have also experienced a significant lag in typing when I am creating an email. Most often I copy a previous email and change the content so the email has a consistant look from week to week. The lag in typing happens no matter what browser or computer I am using and no matter which of my client's constant contact accounts I am working from.
I also experienced that the header's formatting is gone. I used to have a colored background with white text. Now the colored background has been changed to white and there is no where for me to change this setting. I am very frustrated and now it takes me a lot longer to do my work. I'm looking forward to a fix.
Hello,
I am writing as the new update is an absolutely atrocious. Not only did no one ask for an update, this update has made work take twice as long.
All of our email templates had to be reformatted as none of the existing format transferred.
Trying to load an image and bring up the existing library crawls to load. I am often receiving "not responding" errors and if i'd like to wait for the page to load in which I click yes, because what other choice do I have.
Again, this new update is horrible and did no favors to the clients actually using your platform.
100% agree!
Bring back the previous version of CC! The update is harder to use....
I have been having similar issues. Have called support multiple times and they keep saying they are trying to fix the problem. I’m at my wit’s end. I have an appointment with tomorrow morning. It looks like I’ll be switching services. Wondering if anyone will miss our $225/month. Been using CC for over 10 years, but this is just ridiculous. A basic e-newsletter is taking me twice the amount of time and many functions are completely unusable.
The new layout for Constant Contact Email for building and creating campaigns is not letting me save my work. It is very touchy also and moves rows easily.
How to I "save" it. It keeps turning to a dull gray color like it is not active?
