Whenever I type text and input space with space bar the space disappears immediately, so if I continue to type the words run together, I'm not having this issue on any other platforms using the same keyboard and browser, any ideas of what might be causing this? I have a video I can share.
Final Update 11/3: Hello everyone. I'm pleased to say this is now resolved. A fix was rolled out this morning that included several editor improvements, including this one where spaces were being automatically removed in some cases in Firefox.
If you still observe the space bar being removed between words, I'd try restarting your browser or clearing cache just to make sure the old code isn't cached somewhere.
I'm truly sorry this one took so long to resolve, but happy to see if be addressed.
It looks as though they removed from your thread. Your full reply appeared in my direct email. Thankful you gave that tip. I have been with Constant Constant using for a former employer for ten years, and using for current employer for twelve years. I suppose loyalty to them means nothing when it comes to customer care and fixing problems they, themselves, created. Not being able to type with spaces and keypad space bar not working in their program is a HUGE issue. One I do not have time for. Additionally, they raised their rates. So there's that. Yes. I will be looking into mail chimp as well.
There has been some sort of update on the website in the last week. I am trying to create my weekly email campaign and am finding it almost impossible. It lags horribly and is not registering any spaces I type. Once I finish typing a sentence I have to go back and add the spaces between each word! It's taking way longer than it should for me to get this done!
So I have read all the info on here and 2 months really. Come on CC fix this issue. How ridiculous that we cannot use the browser of our choice. Are you being paid off by the other browsers
Why does Constant Contact suppress spaces? I'm trying to create an email and when I press the space bar a space appears but when I type the next non-space character the space is removed and the two words are crammed together without a space between them. I can left arrow back and insert a space between words but this is just a bizarre way of having to type an email.
There appears to be changes within the previously EXCELLENT customer service. I cannot get a live person on the phone for the last several days. When I select the call back option without loosing my place in line, my call has not been returned.
My emails look different, as if updates have been made. Now, when I write a sentence all of the words run together and I cannot figure how to correct this.
Any advice to this frustrated (and former HUGE fan) customer?
Hello @clsyes,
We do apologize for the experience you have had. To fix this text issue, you will want to switch to a different browser as Firefox is currently experiencing issues creating spaces.
It's a bit more; seems like a 'lag' between typing anything and it shows up in your template. Did you update something? The spacing issue remains with FireFox and you have not provided an update; and yes, when I called tech support i got India instead of Boston or Colorado...so what changed? Overall cost cutting and deterioration of service? In any event how can you not have fixed Firefox by now?? Please give a proper overview of what's going on. Thank you. ! Gene
August 29, 2022. Still not fixed. Really? A browser issue? You mean Google is better....the same platform that hosts Gmail, an email platform notorious for diverting CC emails to recipients' spam folders? The monthly cost of CC is too high for this kind of service.
Spacebar not working in Firefox continues. So using Safari on my iMac; and works; but It's a bit more complicated; seems like a 'lag' between typing anything and when it shows up in your template. Did you (cc) update something? The spacing issue remains with FireFox and you have not provided an update; and yes, when I called tech support i got India instead of Boston or Colorado...so what changed? Overall cost cutting and deterioration of service? In any event how can you not have fixed Firefox by now?? Please give a proper overview of what's going on. Thank you. ! Gene (old customer that's frustrated and this is rather distracting)
In the new user interface, the software eliminates spaces. I can see spaces when I type, but the software deletes them, i.e., "Hello there" is rewritten as "Hellothere". I have to type up my text in Word and paste into Constant Contact.
I use Firefox to access the website.
My work around is to type in a word that very obviously must be deleted at once you have finished typing and then start typing before that word. Firefox then accepts the space bar.
And as of today, 9/2/22, the issue is still the same. So frustrating.
We have been having multiple issues for almost 4 weeks in various offices and devices - from inability to put spaces between words to very slow speed to the CC server being unavailable. We have done online chat 6-8 times and get the same response - engineers are busy working on the issues. We were told to switch from Firefox to Chrome. When that didn't work, we were told to move to Edge. Today we tried calling and was told the wait time would be over one hour. What has happened to Constant Contact? We have been a customer since 2006 and have multiple client accounts - this is incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Has anyone else experienced the same issues as us?
This is still an issue. Is there any updates?
The text editor has developed annoying quirks:
1. When typing a heading the editor ignores spaces: For example I type: "This is My Heading" and I get "ThisisMyHeading." I have to go back and manually insert the spaces.
2. If I need to resize the font in a text box, I highlight the text and the editor indicates that the current text is 16pt. I need 14pt. However, when I increment the point size down as soon as I make the first adjustment to 15pt the text editor closes and I have to highlight the text again and increment the font size again which closes the editor once again after resizing the font to 14pt.
This behavior simply began one day. No changes or upgrades to my account.
What gives? Am I the only one seeing this?
When creating an email campaign in Firefox v104.0.2 on Windows 10, the space bar DOES NOT WORK. I have had this problem since May 2022 and it is now September and this problem still exists. Firefox is unusable. This problem does not exist with Chrome, only Firefox. The issue that I have with Chrome is that even though I Save my work, it gets lost and I have to spend hours re-creating the lost content.
Does anyone have a solution to either one of these problems? This is the worst tool in the universe and is a huge time sink. If you know of a better tool for good newsletter creation, I'd like to hear about that, too :-).
Thank you in advance for help.
This is really becoming problematic. And as I'm teaching a couple of new admins how to use CC - well, it doesn't help. Like many others, I primarily use Firefox and switching browsers in really inconvenient.
This looks to be a 4-month long issue — happening to me here. Having to type in Word and copy paste over to CC. That's a pain when it's just a word or two…any fixes?!?!?!?
