UnSubscribe link that I can use outside of email

How can I get an unsubscribe link similar to the one in my emails that I can use on my website so that a customer can choose to unsubscribe from there?

Hello mpex,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. Although we do not provide any similar service I can see how important it would be to have an Unsubscribe button on your website for easy access. I would be happy to submit feedback to our Developers.

I would also like to request this functionality, it would be good to offer people the ability to unsubscribe to emails directly from our website, so that it is logged in Constant Contact automatically. With GDPR coming in next month this is especially important.

Is this really not yet available? It is required urgently - do I have to move my list to a competitor?

Hi @JamesF95

Thank you for reaching out to the Community with your feedback!  I can definitely understand how helpful a tool like this would be, so I apologize this feature is not currently available. While we do not have a time estimate of when a feature like this will be available I have submitted this request in your account. We are still making changes to help keep accordance with GDPR as we get closer to the date.

We're a medium sized business that relies heavily on marketing our products through emails via constant contact. A general unsubscribe landing page would be very useful to comply with the GDPR. Thank you!

Hello @TonyH79,

Thank you for reaching out to us and providing your feedback on this request. I will submit your feedback to the correct team for review. If you have any additional questions at all, feel free to reach back out to us. Have a great day!

I would like to link to our unsubscribe page from an external service. I need to have a link on our website where a user can go to that page, enter their email and automatically be unsubscribed from our Constant Contact emails.

Where do I get that link to the unsubscribe page?

Hi @BethE0,

Thank you for reaching out to us through the Community. At this time, we do not have a link that directs users to the unsubscribe page from an external device. The unsubscribe link that is located at the bottom of the newsletters are particular for the recipients who receive the email campaigns. Once they click on that unsubscribe link, they are unsubscribing their own email address from receiving the mailing. I hope this information helps and I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Let us know if you need assistance with anything else.

Hi Lucas,

We are trying to send the GDPR email template and instead having the "Yes, continue sending me emails" button, we would like to send out this message instead: To discontinue receiving our emails, simply click on the link below:  "Yes, discontinue sending me emails."

Where can I find the unsubscribe link that I can link it on the button? Thank you.

Hi @GemmaG

Thanks for reaching out to the Community! I understand how helpful this feature might be, I apologize this is not currently available. At this time the unsubscribe link is solely at the bottom of the emails.

However, I can certainly submit your feedback on a feature like this to the appropriate teams. Please let us know if there is anything we can assist with in the meantime.

I would like to add in my agreement that this button is needed. Do you have an ETA on when it will be available.

It's great to have it in your email, but there are also those customers that call or chat in requesting this change. We need to serve them in a quick and efficient way.

Hi @BenB9

Thanks for joining us in the Community! I certainly agree there are times when this would be helpful. While we don't have a timeline regarding this, we can track your feedback.

In the meantime, in addition to simply directing people to the bottom of the email, you are more than welcome to directly upload these contacts to unsubscribe from a file. For more information, please click here.

Hi there,

Is there any update on this? I'm looking for a way to add an unsubscribe button to a website, but haven't found a way to do this with Constant Contact yet.

MailChimp already has this built option, from what I can tell: https://mailchimp.com/help/find-unsubscribe-link-audience/. Does Constant Contact offer something like this, or similar? Is there a way we can use a contact's email address and the Constant Contact API to unsubscribe or delete contacts from a website?

Please let me know when you can. Any info is appreciated!

Thanks,

Tamara

Hello @TamaraH2205 ,

The way that SafeUnsubscribe works, is that it pulls coded information from who the emails are sent to - i.e. each contact that receives one of your emails gets a specially coded link just for their specific email address. This allows your unsubscribing contacts to easily opt out without having to type out any info, and without risking other people unsubscribing them by typing in their info.

While our devs are looking into ways this can be opened up some, for the time being the coded methodology is what's currently in place. You can also unsubscribe contacts to yourself as well. This is already the quick, default option for removing bounces, and is also available through individual contact pages. Additionally, if you have advanced contact permissions enabled in My Settings, you can also upload lists (CSV or XLS files) of contacts for the specific action of unsubscribing them en masse.

The option to unsubscribe outside of emails was requested over 3 years ago and this feature is still not available? Your competitors offer this service, so can you please tell me why Constant Contact does not feel this is an important feature to offer its customers?

There should be no reason why "Sign-up Forms and Landing pages" in Constant Contact should not also include an option for users to Unsubscribe. This should be a simple and automated process for your customers. We should not have to manually go in and unsubscribe users.

Please provide an exact date for when this feature will be provided, or which company you recommend we look to to get this feature.

Thanks,

Kelli
