Unsubscribe questions

Issues: 

  • User(s) was unsubscribed and the user(s) said they did not unsubscribe. 
  • Multiple 50+ unsubscribes at the same time, which is rare. 

Questions:

  1. The unsubscribe link appears to be hashed, is it possible for someone to maliciously unsubscribe someone else knowing only the target email address?
  2. Is it possible to see the originating IP address of the unsubscribe request?

Hello @JonH160,

 

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! If one of your contacts forwards the email you sent, unfortunately whoever they forwarded too can unsubscribe on your customers behalf. That would be the one and only way someone could unsubscribe without specific action on their part. We can't see the originating IP address but if they request to be added back to the list select the resubscribe option here. Thanks!
