Unsubscribed contacts who claim they didn't unsubscribe

Hi. I have had a couple contacts reach out to see if their was any way to unsubscribe other than by their action. They do not recall doing it and even if by accident, did not receive a screen following asking them to confirm.  Any thoughts?

Hi  !

Thanks for reaching out to the Community! There are several ways a contact can be unsubscribed :

  • They click the Safe Unsubscribe link at the bottom of your email. - This link is dynamic and has the subscribers email address listed
  • They use their inbox to forward an email to a friend and that friend clicks the Safe Unsubscribe link. - Because the link is dynamic, and we associate the link with each individual subscriber, a forwarded email will still contain the original recipients info
  • You label an individual contact as unsubscribed
  • Suspended Bounces - When you delete a contact from a suspended bounce report it will also unsubscribe them unless you click the box to delete without unsubscribing
  • You import a contact file as unsubscribed
