I am quite new to constant contact and have currently been given the job of unsubscribing contacts who no longer wish to receive our emails. I have recently noticed that when I locate the contact in our mailing list, it states that they have already been unsubscribed. My question is why do they still continue to receive our emails after they have been unsubscribed and how can this be remedied. My Director stated that we have transferred from another company to your services. Could there have been an error when the contacts were transferred to constant contact? I look forward to receiving some assistance with this issue. Thank you.
Thank you for letting us know that some of your unsubscribed contacts are still receiving emails. While moving them from another tool into Constant Contact shouldn't have caused a problem, as long as they are now listed as unsubscribed on our end, there are a few other things that can cause this:
1. The contact has multiple addresses on file. Even though they may not use a certain address anymore, it could still be set to forward to a different address, within their email client.
2. You have a role address on file for that company. We actually don't support the use of role addresses for this reason. When an email address is set to go out to multiple people, we have no way of guaranteeing that it will get to the people it needs to, and not to the people that it doesn't, since that's controlled by the receiver's server.
If neither of these are the case, please let us know and we'll be happy to look into this further for you.
