Vimeo video not creating thumbnail in constant contact?

I have a few videos in my email which are linked to Vimeo, four out five of them have thumbnails and the fifth one is just colored stripes. It is linked to the video and if you click on it it brings you there but it does not have a thumbnail

Does setting the video thumbnail through Vimeo allow it to show in your email campaign? I have taken a look at your account and can see you were able to get in contact with our phone support about this as well. This agent was able to determine it is a defect you're experiencing with this video block. The workarounds for this we suggest is to:

 

  1. Insert the share URL option by clicking the paper plane icon into a new video block
  2. Create an image of video and insert it as a clickable image to video
  3. Remove of the "s" from "https" in your video's URL

 

Does any of these workarounds help?

Hi!  None of these workarounds are working for me.  Why does this campaign feature work correctly when I post YouTube videos?

Hi @trinitysborg. This appears to be an issue that happens occasionally with Vimeo. What is the link to the video that you are trying to insert?

I am having the same issue with my email I am not able to see my thumbnail I do not want to do the work around I really need the video to be played in the email.

Please check the privacy settings on your video, and make sure it is not set to private. 

 

You may also want to try inserting the video manually:

  • Take a screenshot of the video
  • Upload the screenshot image into your Constant Contact library
  • Insert the screenshot into your email campaign
  • Link the screenshot image to the video with the URL

None work i'm afraid, I’ve done a screen shot and then applied the link, it is showing as invalid. Ive inserted a completely different video now as your system appears not to recognise Vimeo.......
