I'm finding that my emails are not filling up the page (side to side). I don't see on the 'templates' where it shows the width of the final emailed product. They are coming across so small that they're not legible. I would like them to show up both in the 'preview pane' and once opened as much wider than they are.

Hello there,
Sorry for the confusion. You can get your image ready to upload to your Library by making sure it has the right height and width, resolution, file size, and file type. This protects the image's quality and prevents errors during the upload process.
If you are using the 2GE editor then it is possible that putting in an image larger than it’s designed dimensions could stretch the email. Stretching the email will make it wider than the designed dimensions and could cause display issues. If you recently put in an image and your email is suddenly wider than what you began with, resize the image smaller and the email should go back to the proper size.
If you are using our 3GE editor then you will not run into the problem of stretching but I do recommend getting your images ready for upload by following these steps.
I hope that helps!
If you are talking about the width of a block, then look at "Advanced Features", then "Edit Style Sheet". Usually at the bottom are the settings for template width, right column width, and left column width. You can edit these, but save your email first and edit with caution. Make sure your right and left column widths add up to total template width. You could also do some tweaking in the html code view for each section you are editing in the email. But only do this if you understand html code.
I've done many newsletters in ***REMOVED BY MODERATOR*** and now have to use CC. It's really different. I did watch the very basic video (still lost) so I'm going to end up needing a lot of help. I don't see an option to drag and drop and yet design my own newsletter, not really starting with a template. So I picked one that looks sort of like what we want to do.
I want a banner to stretch across the entire top of the newsletter in ***REMOVED BY MODERATOR*** that happens if the banner is 600px wide. I dropped that image into an image block and it shrinks in CC to 576 pixels and I can't make it larger, regardless of how large of an image I put upload. So when I save it, there are two gray bands on either side of the image where it isn't filling in the entire image block. I tried unlocking the image size but it won't' let me make it any larger that 576 (again the uploaded size is 600 px) I've tried uploading a larger size (650 px) and it too shrinks back to 576. How do I fill the entire image block with that header?
I've attached the image here (cropped to take out company name for now) and you can see the gray image block background. I can't seem to change that gray to any other color either (although I can change other backgrounds in the newsletter but not an image block).
I'm sure I can have an image that goes the width of the newsletter but just can't figure out how to make it happen. I'm clearly never going to get this newsletter out on the client's timetable. I'm so frustrated I really don't see anything in the knowledge base that will address this.
Thanks for any help.
Hi @BillH26
I apologize for the frustration you were having with getting your image right in the template.
I took a look at your email and I see that the image does stretch out to the full width of the template now. Let us know if you are still having difficulty with that please.
Also, if you are wanting to use your own html/xhtml coding you can do so if you click "Use My Own Code" on the left when on the Template Picker page.
I understand how important it is for you to have the email looking the way you need it to to meet your client's deadline and we are happy to help you here in the Community but for immediate assistance, please contact our Phone Support Team at 1-866-289-2101.
Please let us know if you are still needing assistance.
I had this issue too, I had the image re-created to the exact specs but was only eventually able to get a larger image size by overwriting an old e-mail created on a previous version of the software (which is still active when editing an old e-mail).
Lucky I had that but I'm thinking this resize function was essentially lost in the latest update?
Hi @AnnaH16
Thank you for reaching out to the Community about your email! I am happy to hear you were able to resize your image using one of our templates after all. The resize function that is previously described in this post has not been lost in our newest editor, our Third Generation Editor. Instead, this function has been altered. Once an image is place in a Third Generation template, it can be resized by clicking and dragging the arrows in the right hand corner of your image.
Hello,
There is a way to fill your entire block with a photo by using the Fit to Block option.
Place your cursor over your desired image and click the gear icon.
That's it! I hope that helps.
Just wanted to post some frustration I am having with the new image selector.
1) When you are uploading multiple images of the same thing and want to use the same caption and name for all of the images the old system was much faster. Since the image URL, caption, and name fields were in the same screen you could copy and paste the caption from one image to the next. With the new system it requires the image URL before you can see any other fields. This drastically slows down getting a lot of images on one email.
2) The other issue is the auto-resizing of images. We do not use images that are the same width of the block. We make them slightly smaller to create some white space around the image. With the new system I have to update the size of each individual image to the original size. Again this drastically slows down the process.
is there anyway to revert, back to the old system, or another work around I can do? We have been very happy with CC so far, but this is costing us time and effort. Thanks for any help you can provide!
I'm not at all thrilled with the new image selector. Each and every time I go to place an image, the new image selector wants me to put in dimensions otherwise the image I'm uploading reverts to the dimensions already in the boxes. I never had to put in dimensions before, I could simply upload an image and move on to another part of the email...this is a waste of time to me and very frustrating.
Hi everyone,
Matt - thanks for your feedback in regards to captions. I'll pass this on to our developers. In regards to the auto resize problem you are having, are the images that you are inserting into the block already smaller than the block? If you could let me know, I'd be happy to look into this for you. An image should only auto resize if it is larger than the block.
Chris - we are currently working to correct the issue with dimensions. We hope to have it resolved soon.
Thanks,
The images that we are uploading are smaller than the block width.
Hi Matt,
Would it be alright if we went into your account to test this?
When you have a moment, could you please let us know if this happens with a specific email or all emails and if there is a specific image we should use?
Thanks,
