Hello @PACM ,
If our system is unable to pull the video's thumbnail through YouTube's API, then the only other options would be to:
In either method you could upload a screencap of what the thumbnail is supposed to be, as well as utilize other 3rd party programs to add a play button on top of the screencap and upload that instead.
With that said, @PACM , I was able to get the video to finally load a thumbnail, however it took a significant amount of time (10+ minutes) to finally load up. I made sure to add this to your case's notes for our devs' investigation into the issue, as it indicates that the integration is working however there's an obvious issue with YouTube and our APIs communicating efficiently.
Thank you for your help. I tried again this evening using Microsoft Edge's browser (in case that helped) but I had the same issue. I also tried loading it and just letting it sit but I got to minute 14 and I stopped - still hadn't loaded. Yes - I can use a linked pic and I'll probably have to do that. Just frustrated because this is something I've been doing regularly for 2 years. Thank you for trying. Jill
I found something that fixed the problem. It was appearing to hang when it was trying to load the thumbnail -- video hadn't loaded yet but it seemed to hang on "loading thumbnail". So, I created my own thumbnail jpg (using a screen capture from the video itself) and uploaded it. It worked. I've loaded many YouTube videos in to constant contact and never had this issue before. This file size was smaller than most I usually link to so it wasn't a size issue. It was in the same video format as other videos I had loaded as well. Not sure but I was able to get it to work.
Maybe this will help someone else if they get the same issue. Jill
