assign existing cc domain to new site

I have an existing cc site and domain linked. I also have a NEW design I'm working on with a temporary name. I would like to SWITCH out my old site for this new one with the existing domain. This should be EASY, but I can't figure out how to do it. (It seems to want me to get domain like a transfer from elsewhere. I just want to move our domain and point it to my newly  cc designed site. It's all cc. So this should be an easy point and click switch.)
