Hello,

Once an email is sent you cannot edit the sent email but you can make a copy of the email and resend it with the changes. You have to copy your email campaign into a draft format so that you can make your changes and resend the email.

To copy an email click on ‘More” next to the email campaign you want to edit and then select 'Copy' from the drop down

If you are using our 3GE once you copy the email it will ask you to re-name it.  Give it an appropriate name and select save.  If you are using the 2GE you will need to go to the left top corner and edit the name under where it says ‘Customize Your Campaign’.

Once the email is copied and renamed, make the edits you need to the email itself.  Make sure to change the subject line so that your readers know you have made a change to the email and schedule the email to go out.

This FAQ goes into more detail: Copy from the Campaign List View.

I hope that helps you!

Hi,

Once we send any email from constant contact i need to capture that email address from java application or any other way.

Can we do this using java application using api call?

Hi Narasimha,

That's a pretty good question and I would suggest you post it on our Developer boards. We have members and staff that should be able to help you out.

Thanks,

Jarrad

Jarred can you confirm this for me?

Reusing that code once captured is against the Terms and Conditions of the CTCT usage agreement.

Hi Tony,

Maybe I'm confused, but I was under the impression that they were wondering if they could make a copy of their custom email after sending it and using our API to do so. That's why I directed them to the developer boards.

Thanks,

Jarrad

Well actually it was written a bit foggy.  I just picked up on capturing the email after its sent and I know that's a no-no.

Hi Tony,

Yes, that would not be appropriate.

Thanks,

Jarrad

You can't edit an email once its sent.

how about the static page which is saved on the server for example: Can i edit "Having trouble viewing this email? Click here " section?

Hi Krishnamachar,

Once an email has been sent, you cannot edit the email or the View as Webpage section. You can make a copy of the email to edit if you wish to send it out again, however we advise against this. If a contact receives the same email twice, they're more likely to mark the email as spam. If you do wish to make a copy, follow these steps:

  1. Find the email on the Home or Email Marketing > My Emails page.
  2. Click the email name link. The "Details" page displays for an email in Draft status and the Sent Email Summary page displays for a Sent email.
  3. Click the Copy button.

Note: If the Copy body is grayed out, the event invitation already occurred. You will need to create  a new email
  4. Name the new copy and click Next
  5. Navigate through the Email Wizard and make the necessary content changes.
  6. Click Save or Save & Continue.
  7. Select a list and click Next.
  8. Schedule an email delivery time and click Finish.

Thanks,

Jarrad

Great!  It solved my problem.  I was able to retrieve html code that was lost.  Thanks.

Dear Sir, Madam How can I edit my email? There are some mistakes in it.

Hi there,

If you have already sent out the email before and it is now in Sent status, you will need to make a copy of that draft so that it is then in draft status. Please see these instructions on copying a sent draft.

Hope that answers your question,
