flaw in safari

i have found an annoying flaw when i use cc in safari. if cc detects a typo, rather than just highlight the error with the red underline, it deletes the whole paragraph! sometimes i don't realize this until it's too late to get my text back. when i use cc in chrome, this does not happen. please fix. i prefer safari.

Are there any pending updates for Safari? Are you using any extensions/addons/plugins for Safari that need to be updated or have been updated recently? Does turning any of those extensions/etc. off prevent this issue from occurring in your version of Safari?
