Confirmation Email

I wrote a .NET application which uses the constant contact .NET SDK to sync local contacts with Constant Contact.  When I create a new user, I expect that an email would go out to them, asking them to confirm their subscription.  However, this doesn't seem to occur.

In my code, I am setting the Confirmed property of the contact to false.  When I call the save routine, the actionByVisitor is set to true.  I would expect that this condition triggers the email, but it does not.  What am I doing wrong?

Thank you,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Thank you for reaching out to the API Support team here at Constant Contact.

The Confirmed property is read only, however what you are describing sounds like our Confirmed Opt-In feature. You can use this to make sure any new signups confirm their interest before officially joining your contact list. Below is a link to details about this feature, but essentially when a new contact signs up they are sent a confirmation email with a link they need to click to confirm their subscription. The contacts get put into an Awaiting Confirmation status until they click that link in the confirmation email.

I took a look at your account and it doesn't look like you have this feature enabled. The link below will walk you through turning this on for your account.
