Dynamic Variables in Emails

Let's say I have an email and I want to dynamically replace certain values within the email before triggering it via API. Is this possible with Constant Contact?

In other systems, I could put something like {customerID} and then send that value to the api before sending so that the email is populated with the actual customerID.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey,

You can query the contacts information only in XHTML emails and emails that are made in our new editor inside of our portal.  The way to do it in XHTML is <Property name="Subscriber.CUSTOMTEXT1"> You can find out more of the variable types that you can query here.  Please note that the variable must be in all caps.
