Using cc_contactsave not sending Welcome Email

I am hoping someone can help me!  I have been using the script cc_contactsave.php to allow me to create a form on web sites that have a name and email field and then take a person to a custom Thank You page once they sign in, as well as adding their name to a specific list for that web site.  It is working great EXCEPT the person signing up is not receiving a Welcome Email.  I can not figure out why this is not happening.  A few notes:

1.  I tried changing the settings within the Constant Contact account, first setting it to receive an Auto Responder and then disabling that.  I really want them to receive the generic Welcome Email.

2.  When the contacts are added, it shows up as being added by "Contact" which I think makes a difference - and I thought that meant they would receive a welcome email.

This is the code for the form in the html:

<div align="center"><form action="cc_contactsave.php" method="post">

  <input type="hidden" name="CC_List" value="The Online Video Specialists" />

<input type="hidden" name="Landing_Page_URL" value="http://96.0.118.35/designkrew/yf/thankyou.html" />

  <input type="text" name="Full_Name" size="22" value="First Name" style="font-family:Verdana,Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px;"><br /><br />

  <input name="Email" type="text" value="Email" size="22" style="font-family:Verdana,Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px;;"><br /><br />

<input type="image" name="go" value="GO" class="submit"  src="images/YF_yessmaller.png">

</form>

And the php is attached

If there is a better way for me to be doing this I would love to know!  I am not a php developer, just know enough to not really mess things up generally, but I feel like Constant Contact should be able to provide this as I know so many people who want to be able to do this!  Help please!!!  Its driving me nuts!

After looking at your PHP

After looking at your PHP code I noticed that this integration is using our old 'Site Visitor' API. This API does not have the ability to initiate the Welcome Email. I recommend that for this reason among others you should instead use our REST API.

To get you started in transferring over please download our PHP sample. If you have any other questions please let us know.
