Frequently, when contacts add their names to our list, they neglect to capitalize the first letter of their first and last name. Then, when we send out a personalized email, their name appears that way -- Dear john, instead of Dear John. It would be helpful if your program automatically capitalized the first letters of the first and last name (so we don't have to manually go through our list of thousands of names and do it one by one).
I've previously made this suggestion. Now that we can personalize emails, it would be helpful if the software automatically capitalized the first and last names (when the email subscriber entered it in lower case letters when signing on). It looks terrible when the email goes out like this: Dear john, or Dear mary, We don't have the time or resources to correct the thousands of entries on our email list.
Thank you for bringing this up, I definitely understand the frustration. I've gone ahead and passed this along to our developers to consider with future work and will keep you posted on any progress.
I never heard back from you. This remains a problem. It looks terrible when we send out a personalized email and the first letter of the person's name is not capitalized. This should not be a hard fix. It would even work if you made the full name capitalized.
Hi @ChayaB This is a feature request we are still collecting feedback on. There are many factors that are used to decide what is added to or updated in our product which can cause us to sometimes not have a timeline for when a feature will be available. You will however be contacted if there are any further updates.
I agree that this would be a great and necessary function. It is one that other email services like Mailchimp have had in place for years. I would very much like to see this happen.
At this time, we do not have plans to include a capitalization functionality with a greeting tag. The greeting tag pulls in directly from the information that is included under the contact's profile. There are steps to capitalize names in external spreadsheet programs. Once this is done, the sheet can be reuploaded into the account.
