Be nice if there was an option to only add new contacts that don't exist in other lists when importing contacts from a spreadsheet.
Or being able to import/export the list data in excel so can remove contacts that already live in another list. So then we can import contacts into the correct lists, instead of importing contacts into a new list and having to resort and go through contacts we already have sorted in the right lists.
Be nice if there is a bulk editing page that lets us scroll down all the contacts, and have on the same line the tags and lists associated with that contact to easily edit/add.
Does the current option of including list names when exporting your contacts from Constant Contact help fit your needs? While list names or tags are not available columns when viewing contacts, does the current segment tool help you find contacts based on the criteria you're looking for?
From my understanding:
1. I would have to import my list of say 1,000 contacts into Constant contact.
2. Then export the list to open in excel.
3. Then I can filter out items in excel that are in existing lists. Lets say remove 500 items that I can see are in existing lists.
4. Then I can add the lists that the 500 new contacts are in, in excel.
5. Import the contacts back into Constant Contact?
6. Now all the contacts should exist in the proper lists? as well as the imported list group.
7. Then I can delete the imported list group?
Be nice if when importing contacts it just imports the 500 new addresses as an option, and updates info from the existing 500. Then would have a new list group with just new contacts that need to be sorted.
Maybe I'm missing an easier way of doing this?
Thanks for following up with these details it definitely helped to understand what you are looking to accomplish with your contacts. The good news is our system is already designed to do exactly this when uploading a file of contacts. If an email address for a contact in your spreadsheet matches a contact's email address that already exists in your Constant Contact account, the contact is updated to prevent duplicate contacts. Once your file has uploaded you can then remove any existing lists from your new list.
Because our system already allows this, we are going to close this idea. This doesn't mean that we aren't listening to your feedback! Please feel free to comment or vote on any of the other open ideas to let us know what you would like to see. If you have any further questions when uploading your contacts our support teams are always available by chat, phone, and here in the Community as well.
Except we have over 40 lists, that we would have to go into each list and choose all the contacts and remove from the new list. 40 + times.
We will open this idea back up in hope that other users share their feedback on wanting to bulk remove contacts from multiple lists along with use case examples they may have.
