Using Events with PayPal

0 Votes

It used to be simple to set up and use PayPal for payments for an Event in CC. PP fees were automatically included in my client's invoice. Now the PP fees are deducted from the client's payment and no one can tell me why the change and how to fix it. My client's total amount varies depending on multiple variables, making it difficult and complicated to set up a pre-determined credit card and non-credit price for each item. It should be easy to develop a routine that calculates the fees and includes in the invoice generated. I am disappointed that CC would leave such a gap in this important area.

Hi @FSBHTiger

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Constant Contact does not require any additional fees for payment, so whatever additional fees that are being placed on your account are being charged by PayPal. Since these are being levied by PayPal and may different for different customers, we don't have a way to predict and display for specific accounts. If you haven't already, I would recommend reaching out to PayPal to identify what is causing those fees.

Thanks for using Constant Contact,

Rob L.

These fees are transactional. Previously the transactional PayPal fees were charged to the buyer, and now they are deducted from the proceeds to the seller. Both CC and PP ignore that this is a burden to non-profits and small businesses but can be easily fixed by either or both of you.
