How to search using "contains" in contact list

0 Votes

I know a lot of people were annoyed, like me, that Advanced Search doesn't have a "contains" option, but only lets you search, for example, on title "begins with."

Well I discovered, by accident, that in the regular contacts search window (under Contact Management, Search Contacts) it supports the * wildcard.  So if I want to search on somebody with "medical" anywhere in their title, if I enter --  *medical* -- into the search window, it works. I've found this super helpful so thought I'd share.  I don't know why this isn't mentioned in the help.
