Customers being unsubscribed without their knowledge

I have had several customers who have been unsubscribed without their consent. The help desk explained that if the user forwards the email to someone who then unsubscribes, the original user is also unsubscribed. This is a problem as it takes a lot of time to fix the problem.

Hi Susan,

I understand that this can be frustrating. We actually added in a place to reenter the email address before opting out in order to prevent this from happening but if the email address is reentered than the contact could opt out.
