Inconsistent reporting

Inconsistent reporting

One page says 436 unique opens, another say 295. What the hell is going on at Constant Contact? Can't you get this right? Are you ever going to fix it?

trying to review our list is cumbersome and next to useless - I thought constant contact was for managing emails to GROUPS - and it near impossible to manage the groups now

Can't see a complete list of contacts; complicated to change emails or add new ones. We use this for every communication within our HOA and you've just made it harder not easier to manage these lists.

The new format seems to show emails sent but no data on whether this contact has opened any of them.

First time I checked the en-newsletter results, it said 16 opens which matched with the report page. I have checked at least 3 times since then, with increasing numbers listed for the newsletter but the report page always says 16 unique opens. Not helpful!

I am so angry with this new contact system. It's cumbersome, making me lose a lot of time. It's hard to navigate. It seems that every time I open a name, it disappears off its list. I can't find a way to edit a contact. I loved the old system. It was easy to use. piece of cake...this one's a piece of crap. please change back or at least give option to use the old system. who the heck is using htis one???

Not finding the new layout of My Contacts very user friendly, the one thing I personally want to see is the summary of the lists and you've condensed that down to a small scrolling column on the left? I could previously click on each list to see the view you now show as the default so this is a step back for me. Kind regards, Craig.

Hi Susie,

I am sorry for the confusion, the open information shows in the contact engagement or in the reporting for the email. Can you try clicking Email>Reports and then the hyperlinked number of opens to the right of the email name.

can i also view the site as it was before?

Hi John, Sorry for this inconvenience. Can you clarify what page you are looking at?

The first screen tells me I have already 125 opens...but when I click further it tells me there are only 42 unique opens, but then lists the 125 addresses. What do I believe? Is this really accurate? Please explain.

I prefered the older style where you could see your lists

Allow us to view all the columns of information, and make changes to them at once - instead of needing to either export the list to make changes or go into individual records. Using export/import just increases the odds of the information getting lost or corrupted. Being able to edit the whole table at once would save a lot of time!

would be great to be able to print contacts - this export tool is taking FOREVER. I have a list of 300 contacts and this should take seconds, not hours or even minutes. Thanks for listenihg

I really dislike having to scroll through the e-mail lists in the left hand column.

I enter my contacts individually and ad them to several different lists. The formate you had before allowed me to visually see my lists and see how many contacts were in them right away... it also allowed me to enter multiple contacts then enter, then pic which lists to add those contacts. ... NOW it seemes I have to enter one contact at a time. Its very frustrating. I may have to find another company to do this with. Your new formate just isn't user friendly. Agh I am so very frustrated.

I sent an e-mail blast 11/19/13 and got 55 bounces. But today, CC is reporting 75 bounces although 66 show in the list. When I download the bounces, there are still 55. So is it 55, 66, or 75????

Hi Harris. What management tools are missing? We can see if they've been moved, or if they are something we can work on adding back in.

What happened to the Removed/Do Not Mail lists?? I don't know why you would remove features instead of enhancing them but this has made our internal procedures much more tedious. We don't have any way of knowing if we've just never added someone to the list or if we removed them for a reason. Please bring that feature back!

i find the new contact management interface very cumbersome and awkward to work with. i typically worked from our Email lists and not the individual contacts, so it's pretty much worthless having that be the predominant listing - i also found it awkward attaching the list to my e-mail and importing in a new list (specifically naming) - All around a step in the wrong direction..

Why on earth do I have to check "I have permission to email these contacts" every single time I update contacts, especially when I'm just updating EXISTING contacts. Thanks for yet another new mouseclick to make my job harder for no reason. My fuse with the new CC contact UI is getting very short.

the unique opens % doesn't refresh in the email overview panels

I just imported an XLSX file with 240 contacts. I had 6 entries on my spreadsheet with a blank email so I was expecting an import of only 234 contacts. The Import Activity report shows that 228 contacts processed (6 new, 212 updated), this totals 335. OK, so this is 1 off, I'm OK with that thinking maybe it was counting my header line or something. Then, when I look at the Contacts in my list (FAYETTEVILLE MASTER COMMUNICATIONS LIST as of 11.20.13), the parentheses next to the list name shows only 218. But when I click the list to see all the members, that is only showing 215. I then Exported this list and sure enough only 215 exported. So, I need to know what happened to the missing 20 contacts. (235-215=20) Thanks, Traci

in the old system I could view all the contacts on my email list and on this new system I can only see 50 at a time and have to hit the arrow at the bottom to advance to the next 50. could you change it so I could scroll down to see all of them?

I need to clear 17 lists and re-upload them every week. With the new upgrade I now need to go into each list separately and clear the contacts - This is a major inconvenience and will add extra time into my clearing and re-uploading. I have about 80 lists on your database and I now have to scroll through a tiny side bar which lists them and find the ones I want, whereas before I could view them all on one page (select multiple ones to clear at one time) and add my own preference of order so that the ones I used regularly would be located at the top and all grouped together. I think the new layout is messy and it makes my job a lot more difficult. The fact that you can’t see a contacts email history and record all in one place is also extremely inconvenient. In the past I could check on an individual user and see their entire email history and whether they opened/clicked/bounced all in one place, this made it easy to determine what the problems were when emails weren't being received. Now I have to go into each particular email to look at these records. Generally upgrades are to improve a system, however Constant Contact is now extremely difficult and untimely to use with my daily tasks. And these are only the first 2 problems I have stumbled upon. I hope you can take my feedback on board and bring back some of the old layouts/functions, otherwise the use of Constant Contact for our business may need to be reconsidered. Thank you,

The old system allowed us to add several contacts at one time along with selected info such as phone numbers, address, state, zip, etc. When I would speak at a conference etc. I would always leave a signup sheet with email address, name, city, state and zip code, then take it back to my office and enter all this in line by line on your old form. Now, INCREDIBLY...WE CAN NO LONGER DO THIS, WHICH FORCES US TO GO BACK IN ONE BY ONE AND ADD THE INFO PLUS ASSIGN CATEGORIES! WAAAAY TOO MUCH WORK!!! I have never had a problem with Constant Contact's thinking about how best to help us who are your customers, but this is a shockeroo! NOT WISE CHANGE, PERIOD! YOU NEED TO CHANGE THIS! GIVE US A WAY TO ENTER IT ALL AT ONE TIME!

I would like to be able to see way more than 50 on a list of my contacts. As I have almost 2500 it is too slow to advance by increments of only 1-50.

When I add a new contact list title, it sends it into alpa order and then I have to dog for it -- would be better if it landed at the top of the list

It would be helpful to have several fields to choose from when you click in the right corner to choose name, company, etc. For example if I am looking at the whole list I would like to see in the list view the name and the status for each (active, unsubscribed, opted out, etc). I look at the status with counts I have Active (975), Unsubscribed (862), and All (4127). The first 2 numbers do not add up to the all number so it would be great to know what the other 2290 are in the list. PS: Nice job on the site

One recipient shows as opening my email, but when I click on his name to check "engagement" report, it doesn't even show that he opened that particular email. How many other things are being reported incorrectly? Ever since you started "improving" the site, it's screwed up. I see many glitches that I don't bother to report.

It was so much easier to see all my contact lists on a full screen. Now, i have to scroll up and down to look for a list, using this small column on the left side. not good.

I have multiple interest lists - i per each client I work for. How can i see a report that shows me new contacts, and where they signed up from for each individual client. Right now I'm able to see for all my contacts, but that does me no good. I need to be able to see for individual clients or "interested categories".

I'm a little concerned that the number of contacts listed in parens next to the name of the list under Email Lists is not accurate - in fact way off - three times higher than it's supposed to be. When I bring up the list, the number seems right. Thank you!

I cannot do something as simple as see a full screen of my lists. let alone order chronologically as before. this is very disappointing. you may lose our business over this mis-step as list management is critical.

This is so frustrating and time consuming. having to use that scroll bar in a small window to find our lists. I cannot believe that knowing lists are used constantly to send group emails, that you would minimize this function!!!!!!!!!!!

I had it in the order I wanted - easier to select and find the contacts I wished to email - now - in alpha arrangement - it is crazy

Help us see more than 50 names on a page. Thanks.

I think of my contacts in terms of email lists before I want to view them as individuals. This new view makes that difficult. Is there a way to view the lists as they use to appear?

The new layout is very difficult to navigate with the teensy weensy slider and selection window. Hate it in the contacts window AND the scheduling window. Please make this feature intuitive, as it used to be.

With your strange new focus on individual contact management, it is now MUCH harder to manage at the list level. With many of your customers, like me, having 1000's of contacts, I do not want to see the majority of a window dedicated to showing individual contact names. Most of us manage lists of contacts first, not the contacts themselves. It is not VERY difficult to get to the list I want, delete that list and/or sort by list date, list size, etc. I hope you can add an option to switch to a list view and put the same energy into managing, organizing, sorting, etc. lists as you have done with individual contacts. You have taken a step backwards towards small-time customers instead of clients managing marketing lists.

I type in all my contacts and it was easier to add mutable names like before instead one at a time

Suggestion: It would be nice if there was a keyword search option for our email lists so we don't have to scroll through (potentially hundreds of) lists to try to find the particular one we're looking for.

Hi Jessica,

What is the name of the email this is happening with?

Three interface improvements would make managing large lists much easier Put the navigation tools at the top of the window as well as the bottom, so you don't have to scroll down to the bottom of a long list each time you click a navigation tool (and the view jumps back up to the top of the list). Allow the user to jump to a letter in the alphabet, instead of having to click the right arrow multiple times. Please keep the list at its current location in the alphabet after an action like deleting a contact. This would be very helpful when making multiple changes in alphabetical order. thank you!

With CC contact list change I can only see six lists in the new left hand column. Please recode so that all lists are displayed and I don't need to scroll (a great waste of time - scrolling). Thanks, CJ Henderson Banded Living, LLC

This is impossible to manage lists. Trying to navigate amongst lists, or do any merging/cleanup is impossible. Being reset to the top of the lists after renaming, etc is awful

The only option I see is to completely remove someone...a task that the pop-up window warns me cannot be undone. I'd prefer an option that let's you "park" them with the option to add them back in again.

I didn't mean to select "Bring back the Do Not Mail List" subject line.

Contact page should be user friendly. It is not. Needs to enable owner to chose which fields are shown (even if blank) and the order the fields are displayed in. Limiting the "company" field to Company is just plain short sighted. Enable the owner to customize the name. Not every owner is running a business, many like mine are organizations or clubs.

the most important thing for us are the categories and lists that we have and now they are all the way on the left side of the screen and very small and hard to read...those should be in the middle of the screen like they have been and in the order in which I had them...
