When importing a list from a file, I see that 6 contacts did not import because they were unsubscribed. How do I know which ones they are?

I get a pop up box telling me that I have invalid email addresses, but I don't know where to find them.;

More steps involved... and when I got to add a group of contacts to a list you give me the message that some could not be added but no longer do you show me a way to find which ones or why...

I need longer activity history, that shows what the file name is, and dates back to the last 6 months. When will this be possible to access?

The ability to see when and who unsubscribed a contact is vital to our messaging through Constant Contac (CC)t. We send messages to our 5,000+ members regularly. When CC did some redesign a few months back, they eliminated the ability to click on an individual "unsubscribed" person's name to see what date and by whom the person was unsubscribed. This is a problem - our members frequently call and insist they didn't unsubscribe themselves. I routinely used the report showing when and who unsubscribed them (always themselves) to prove that I could not resubscribe them due to privacy laws; I then furnished them with resubscribe procedures. I have way now to show these contacts that they unsubscribed themselves and am getting blasted by people insisting that we (the association sending the messages) unsubscribed them (the individual) just for funsies, I guess.

I created a small contact list of 32 emails. 1 email was not added because they previously unsubscribed from another list. It's easy for me to find out which email when the list 30+ in size, but if the list is much larger (like 1000+), how can I find out who was not added? I can't seem to find the actual email address in "activity" or "reports".
Please add back the feature to the activity panel that tells me what emails could not be added b/c the individual opted out. Aside from comparing my opt out list to my imported list, there is no way for me to easily identify these opt outs.

Since there's no way to adequately deal with lists inside CC, at the very least, have the email's title attached to the exported lists.

I just loaded a new list and there used to be a window that showed the email addresses that were not loaded because of an error or being unsubscribed. That was very helpful. I see a number in the red square, but don't see how to get a list of the emails that were on the list and unsubscribed.

My membership changes regularly and in large numbers. Additionally, some members are on multiple lists. On the old system, I removed an entire list "just from the list." My understanding is that in the past any that weren't added back to the list moved to a remove list that didn't count against my active contacts. In the new system, I now have actives who are not associated with a list but still count against my active contact number. This is a problem because these contacts are no longer our members and we will not be sending to them in the future. We have around 13,000 contacts and a large amount of change in our membership. I need an easy way to delete these active contacts that are not assigned to a list. An unassigned list or the ability to search for unassigned contacts would both work. Thank you.
Can't really tell which ones didn't get uploaded.

on activity page: when error message says 18 unsubscribed.. can there be a function that lists the specific unsubscribed individuals without going to full unsubscribed list. I have a large contact list, and 1/8 of that are unsubscribed. I import various smaller lists with some overlapping, I want to just pull that specific list.

Hi I have had a number of pieces of correspondence about finding out which people who had unsubscribed and we haven't picked up. I see we have 54 in four uploads I did today. I have tried unsuccessfully to go through the procedure outlined to ascertain who they are but it is just beyond me. Is it possible for CC to send me whose these people are. I am at my wits end. Thanks and cheers Jeff

I no longer see a menu option that lets me see who opted out of my email list. How do I do that?
Occasional Advisor
I understand that people unsubscribe. I also understand that sometimes people who have already unsubscribed give you their email address again. When you import a large list and you get like 200 contacts and you see that little red box that says like '2', why can't I click on that and see the actual names of the actual people that actually didn't get uploaded? Don't you think that would be something we'd want to know, so we can tell those people they couldn't be re-subscribed? So, all I can do now is export the entire list (another ludicrously long process in the new UI - thanks for removing the option to export only certain fields, jerks!) and manually compare that list to my original list. Thanks for once again making things more difficult.

When I add a list of names, a red box will sometimes come up and say "This job has __ issue." It says something like "Some of the contacts are unsubscribed." But there is no place to go to find which ones are unsubscribed.

I've reported this problem before. The new interface does not identify who has opted out in the past but is trying to resubscribe. Due to the complexity of your re-subscribe process, we invariably have to hand walk each person through it -- but I can't help them if I don't know which addresses failed! This problem occurs both on manual pasting of a list of addresses and upload of a spreadsheet. You identify the number that failed, but not who they are. I don't have the time to search through hundreds of names looking for who didn't make it... please fix this!

This feature used to be available, and it is now gone in this new layout. Just knowing that I couldn't add 6 people is not helpful; I need to know who they are.

In the old Contacts system, when I downloaded the unsubscribes, I got a field that told me why the person unsubscribed, if they chose to type a reason in. That was excellent information, that I used to improve how I did things, and which I used to maintain my membership database (outside of Constant Contact. For example, if they said "I've moved out of state," I knew to also stop sending them fundraising letters). In the new system, that field is not gone.

when adding contacts from an excel document into a list, i used to be able to see which emails were not added in the activity tab. now it simply shows the errors but not the emails. very annoying that this was removed, i used it daily.

I really need to be able to see who has unsubscribed when I am adding new contacts. That way I can send them a link to resubscribe, or send them a private email. Can you PLEASE add this functionality back to the activity page? Thank you!

I am new to Constant Contact and just imported a list of contacts.  After the website refreshed, I noticed I have 16 "unsubscribed" contacts.  I haven't sent anyone anything yet.  How can they be unsubscribed already?  How do I fix it?

When I add a new list and am told that some people could not be added (unsubscribed, blocked, etc.), I need to know WHO they are so that I can take action. Knowing how many there were in the list is of no use at all unless I know WHO they are. Please add this functionality to the tool. Thank you.

I have two errors adding contacts, but when I click on tell me more, it says "emails were not in proper format, click on emails to correct them" and it doesn't give me any emails to correct! I can't tell who I have successfully loaded and who I haven't. I am frustrated.

Can you have the activity report show when a list is deleted, which list was deleted? Thanks

Previously, when I went to add multiple contacts, if one was opted-out, it would tell me which address it could not add. Now, it only gives me the information that 1 subscriber was opted-out and could not be added. I'm working on an invitation list for an event, so I need to know which email address to manually invite!

I used to be able to see who had already opted out of my contacts when I was uploading leads. Sometimes I have leads that we meet at conferences who sign -up for emails from us, but they might have opted out previously. Now I cannot see these opt-outs when I upload new lists. I used to be able to see that in the Activity tab. Where did it go?
Frequent Visitor
i need to know WHO was not added so i can let them know they need to add themselves back in. they email me a request to be added, i add NUMEROUS emails at once, so it looks extremely UNPROFESSIONAL when they are not added and i can't tell them they haven't been b/c i CAN'T SEE the email that was not added. BRING BACK THAT FEATURE! i already have to jump through hoops (4 clicks!) to add someone b/c you changed the add contacts. SHOW ME WHO WASN'T ADDED. PLEASE!!!!!!
Occasional Contributor
I added 17 contacts to a list. The activity reported the number added, the number updated, and that 1 could not be added. Clicking on the one line Activity summary only said "1 could not be added because had unsubscribed". BUT IT DID NOT TELL ME WHICH NAME was not added! How can I maintain a professional system with such inadequate information? This is typical of the poor implementation since the conversion of Constant Contact to a Windows 8.

If I upload a list, I would like to know *who* was not added because they're on the "unsubscribed" list.

I am very disappointed in the new contacts features that were rolled out to my account last week. The new UI is very difficult to use, it is slow to load, and frequently errors out or fails to load the "next" page of my contacts lists. In the contact details, the email history used to be presented in a clean, easy to read table. Now it is in a jumbled mess of a list. Getting a quick overview of a contact's activity history is much more difficult. Uploading new lists used to show me which contacts had errors. Now, while it still reports there are errors, it no longer shows which emails were problematic, so I need to do extra steps to ensure that my offline records are in synch with my account. Also, removing contacts from all lists used to be fairly easy and straight-forward. Now it is much more cumbersome project, and prone to error, as scrolling through the list of lists sometimes skips, or doesn't load all of the options. Again, the UI is clunky and slow to load in this aspect as well. Overall, I do not see these changes as an improvement. The data I was most interested in is no longer available, and the new UI is terrible.

In the past, I was able to see details on which specific emails were not added and the detailed reasons why. Not sure if that feature has been removed or simply moved, but I cannot find it.

Every time I import contacts there are issues because some of them had previously un-subscribed ... but it doesn't tell me which ones they are, so I can avoid importing them next time! Is there any way to identify them?
Occasional Contributor
Usually the "Activity Report" shows the name of the list that I uploaded to. And I can easily find errors so I can correct them. How do I know which 7 contacts are Unsubscribed?
Occasional Contributor
The old system gave info about WHAT mail address was invalid. The new one only says that there is invalid address. Why did you remove this option????

You alert me that 10 people I tried to add had opted out of my emails but I do not see a way to see in CTCT who didn't get added. I used to be able to see this information. It is helpful to share with my data entry person so we can make sure we do not attempt to email them again.

I am running an event and use Constant Contact to email check-in, schedule & registration information to a number of contacts. Unfortunately, 9 of my contacts have at some point in the past, unsubscribed from my email database. This is not a problem, what is a problem, is that when I send the email to the contacts who are attending my event I get the message that 9 of those contacts have unsubscribed, but not who those contacts are! This is very frustrating as I'm now faced with the situation of not knowing 'who' has not received the check-in information they will need, when they arrive at the event. I cannot understand why you've changed the way you notify me of unsubscribes in these circumstances? Previously, I would have been able to see who those 9 contacts were and then simply send them the information from my own email address. So now, I either have to wait till those 9 contacts get in touch with me asking where their check-in info is, or I spend hours going through all the email addresses of those attending my event, cross referencing them to see who is not on the Constant Contact list. I use Constant Contact to make life easier! This is making my life more difficult and I don't have the time to waste.

We maintain our contacts in an external database. I can't keep that DB up to date if I can't easily tell which contacts have un-subscribed. It used to be easy! Now I don't see a way to do it at all.

when are you going to ad back the feature so i can SEE the OPT OUT EMAIL ADDRESS? it is of absolutely NO VALUE when you indicate a contact could not be added but you do not show me WHO/what contact has not been added.

I inputted a list of 2500 names. 143 had errors (ypos where we had two ".." or a space before the .com. However, you have no method of me printing or exporting that list so I can correct it in our office database? This seem like a glaring oversight.

Constant Contact keeps track of contacts who opt-out of your emails. You can export a list of these contacts for your own personal record or to get a better overview of how your list is doing.

When I add contacts through a file, it will tell me that 3 of the contacts have been unsubscribed and can't be added. But it doesn't tell me which ones they are, so that I can remove them in my program. That means I'll just keep trying to add them every time. If there is a way we can find out which ones that would be helpful.
Regular Visitor
Seeing who the unsubscribed people are when you import a file and they don't get added. Before, when you clicked on "activity" and clicked through to the import, you could see the errors and the unsubscribed people. That is very important! It helped me keep our main contact database clean. Also, if one of our big donors has unsubscribed and isn't getting our emails, I want to contact them by phone or snail mail to give them our information and to invite them to resubscribe so they don't miss important message from us.
Occasional Visitor
If I can't see which contacts were not added, I can't tell them about the problem even though they have given permission to be added as contacts.

I tried to updated my list and receive an error that I was trying to update a contact that had unsubscribed. I cannot determine which contact that is in order to update in my customer database.

This is crazy - when I imported a list in the past, if I had 2 people who had unsubscribed you could just click and see their email addresses - now you can't. This is super irritating because now I don't know who isn't receiving the email. Please put this featured back

When looking at the activity page the message Contact Import failed is a meaningless message. Please give me a little more detail. When did it fail? was it record 1 or record 5000. Now many on the list were successfully imported? What caused the failure?
