Show which contacts were updated

When you load new contacts, it lets you know how many of those were updated. If it knows this, it should be able to show you who specifically was updated with the new upload.

Is there a way to merge contacts in the new layout? Second question, can you no longer see who wasn't added or why, when adding a list of contacts. It says " 5 added, 7 updated, 2 not added", but not who or why, like it used to.

I feel like it's one step forward and the one step backwards. I like that I see the progress bar when I add new contacts but I would like to know what list I updated. This is a feature in the previous version that I regret is no longer available.

I thought I used to be able to see a list of errors when I got the red error notice on the activity log. Why can't I see it anymore?!

the ACTIVITY page doesn't show which group you imported your contacts in. I just imported some contacts and it doesn't look like my group was updated, and now I don't know what group those contacts went into

I import an Excel file, and it says e.g. "Import complete. There were 27 contacts added. 2 contacts were updated." I don't see any way to see WHICH were updated. Want to make sure it wasn't someone with the same name overwriting a previous subscriber, for instance. How to see which were updated and in what way?

you need to include the unsubscribe's contact information on the activity report when importing a list in order for me to run my business properly.

When I add contacts via uploading a list, I get a report saying that X number were updated, X were added, X were unable to be added because they are unsubscribed. It would be great to be able to see who is in which category! thanks very much.

I have uploaded a new list of contacts. The Activity screen says there were 118 issues w/ the import, but I cannot see the detail of what those issues are. How do I see the detail so I can update my email contacts?

I just did an upload to my contacts from a file on my computer, and the Activity report says it could not add 1 of the contacts because it had been previously removed. It did not give me the name of the contact so I could investigate. Is this information actually available and I am not sure where to look? Thank you for any help you can provide. Jeanne Wagner

Hi folks at Constant Contact, It would be really helpful in the activity summary to see which contact list imports are added to, and/or show when the lists themselves were last updated. It would help us keep track of the multiple lists we use. Thanks!

When uploading new names to a list, it would be helpful to know what people are being updated (20 added, 2 updated), as this would indicate duplication of a record or a change that we would need to record at this end in addition to keeping it in the Constant Contact database.

Please change your system so that when I'm loading several contacts at once and one of them is being updated, you'll let me know which one is updated (like you now do with the contacts who are being loaded back in but can't be loaded back in because they previously opted out). Thank you!

I am uploading a file and it tells me that 83 contacts were added but only 13 show up. When I try it again it tells me 70 contacts were added 13 updated, but only 13 are there. Can you please assist?

It would be helpful to be able to select multiple lists and then add or remove them from another list. Also, on the activity page, it would be nice to see which lists have been removed instead of seeing "36 contacts have been removed from a list" Thanks!

When I upload a new csv file, if emails exist in system prior, a message will appear that says, ## Emails Imported, and that it has also XX amount updated emails. Would it be possible to put a hyperlink in the message to view the updated emails? Also is there a way that you could add a view tab where I can see all emails in our contact list and choose the to view them by the lists they belong to.

After uploading my new contacts, CC will say "Import complete" and will sometimes tell me that some were ADDED and some were UPDATED, but I can't figure out which contacts were UPDATED! I need to know this! Please make this info obvious to find. That would be most appreciated! Thank you!

Hi! It would be super-helpful to display the list the contacts that were uploaded went to, so that we know which list has issues with contacts (unsubs, etc.). Thanks!

Just for perspective, in Mailchimp, we were always able to review the entire upload to a mailing list and review carefully those that were unsubscribed, those that existed that were updated, hard bounces, soft bounces, etc. Coming from MC, it's VERY annoying to not have this information and to have contacts so difficult to manage!  I hope this feature is coming soon - this thread started in 2013.

When uploading a list of contacts to Constant Contact, a report is automatically created with various exceptions.  Entities with "No Permissions Set" should be included on the exception report.  Then I can be proactive to "fix" them as appropriate instead of "reacting" when I am contacted and asked why someone was not invited to an event.  Many times it is due to "No Permissions Set."  My uploaded lists are too large to verify one-by-one that each record was uploaded. Hi @LynnM902 thanks for reaching out with the feedback on your contacts! I would however like to clarify that all contacts are recognized and updated based on their email address. Meaning anyone with the same name will not overwrite any other subscriber. Only the information included in your upload is what will be updated. I also wold like to mention exporting your list will allow you to see which contacts were updated.

The date and time your contact was last updated is one of the fields you can include in your export.

Called support and found that this was internal export for audit purposes. It would be helpful if that were indicated on the activity screen. We thought our account was hacked!

Which list was impacted by these changes? Cannot tell. Would be very helpful to see the list name.
