there is no field for the unsubscribe reason when you export the information from the new contacts feature
This is quite valuable information for record keeping reasons
Is there a way for CC to generate a email when a contact unsuscribes - or when a new one subscribes? Pulling reports is an awkward way and sometimes a quick response is important.

What browser are you using when you are unable to see the unsubscribe info? Have you been able to replicate this in another browser or have you had issues since you reported this post?
If you could provide me your browser information, including a version and possibly a screenshot this would help us determine what the issue might be.

Thanks for your feedback about making the unsubscribe reason easier to find. Currently you can see the reason in the report of the email that the user unsubscribed from.
Also, you can have a user opt out of one list or all lists by showing the lists on the Update Profile form. Click Contacts>SignUp Tools> Update Profile Form and check off the lists you want to show. If you don't have any lists showing they will be opted out from all.
This is a silly situation. That tip only shows you the people who unsubscribed via the email and not people who unsubscribe other ways... such as clicking to subscribe a second time on your site.
I want one report for unsubscribes however they occur and I want to see the reasons. I want to see it in one place for all unsubscribes not email by email.
This is a key requirement for managing a list and building an audience. Please fix this..
I heartily concur. I just went through this again last night, updating my master contact list for our organization, a contact list which lies outside of Constant Contact. We need to know not just who unsubscribes from Constant Contact, but why. Depending on the reason (if one is stated), we may want to remove that person from our postal mailing list as well, and/or make other notes in the master list. And yes, I also have no idea who may have unsubscribed independently of responding to a specific email, which it is quite possible to do. In fact, on our Website, we point people to Constant Contact if they want to subscribe OR unsubscribe.
All in all, it took me over an hour and a half to perform a task which in the past would have only taken five minutes. Your new interface is a colossal time sink, and needs to be fixed.
I wholeheartedly agree. I can't even begin to imagine why CC would think leaving this reporting function out would be beneficial to users?
Please keep us apprised of when this will be added back in. I believe the comments here are reflective of the majority of users of CC.

I just verified with a support tech that "Reason" for Unsubscribe is available for export ONLY from individual email reports and not from the Contact Management area. I would like to export all of my "Unsubscribed" contacts along with the reason they unsubscribed. I think this is a big oversight and important to implement. Please let me know when it's implemented. How many users is 'enough', to 'do your best'?
I see this response peppered amongst the thousands of complaints, but never see changes back to the way it was.

Unsubscribe comments can be found directly within the Unsubscribed report. You can go to the Email tab, click on Reports or the name of the email and then the hyperlinked number for Unsubscribed. In the right column, you will see the reason for Unsubscribing.
The issue you are currently having is a system issue where you can not see the unsubscribe comment. If you would like to see that information please visit email > reports > unsubscribe page you can see the comment. This issue right now has no ETA on when this might be fixed however If you would like to know when it is resolved please reply back to this post.
