We maintain multiple lists, from different events. Lists should be different but they are all same.

How can we keep our lists separate but complete?

I'm not sure what you mean, do you only have one list in your account at this time? You can have as many lists as you would like and if the contact is on more than one list when you send to them they will only get one copy. Have you considered breaking up your list by Events and then having a master list also? You could also keep the contacts in the one master list and then use tags to label each contact with the name of the Event.
