with the new formatting, I can't see when someone unsubscribes themselves. I can see when they were added, and updated, but not unsubscribed.
this new formatting is more difficult to figure out.
Before the recent contact changes, I used to see unsubscribe reason when I exported unsubscribes. If someone said the person was deceased, or they had moved out of state and were no longer interested in our organization, I used that info to suspend their account in our membership database. Without that reason, I can no longer keep our membership database up to date and we continue to send these people mail. In the case of deceased people, this is offensive to their relatives, in the all cases, it's a waste of our resources.
In the download of unsubscribes, I think, but I'm not entirely positive, that you have added back the "unsubscribe date" in the column that's called "Updated at". If that's true, thank you for bringing that feature back. I, like many Constant Contact users, maintain a membership database separate from Constant Contact, and I need that info to keep my membership database up-to-date.
Sometimes people unsubscribe from our email list in Constant Contact, but then they ask us to email them something, like a link to a document that they asked for during our public radio pledge drive. When I can't email them through Constant Contact, I need to email them from my own work account. They have asked us for something, made a financial contribution to get it, I am honor-bound to deliver the item to them. If I don't know whom I need to follow up with, wow, I'm providing horrible service and worse, I'm failing to deliver on a promise.
Thank you for your feedback. I apologize for the inconvenience. Currently, the best way to view this information is to Export the Unsubscribed list and sort in Excel by Date Updated.
Please, Constant Contact, I am begging you, when I export the unsubscribes, I need to know the date they unsubscribed. Please understand that many of us don't use Constant Contact in a vacuum - we also maintain membership databases. I cannot keep my membership database up-to-date (or it's more chaotic to try to anymore), now that you have taken away the unsub date. The "updated at" date that you now give us is not the same. That could be the date I tried to re-add an unsub'd contact, it's not the date they unsub'd. Please, please give us this info that you surely have.
I really miss being able to view a list of removed contacts (those that the account holder has removed, not ones that have unsubscribed). This allows us to monitor our lists for contacts that may have been removed accidentally or through a wonky connection with a website application (it has happened and the removed contacts list saved my butt!).
Please brink back this important feature!
Jessica, Thanks for the feedback! We value your opinion and want to give you the features and tools you want. We are currently working on getting more robust data for you regarding the unsubscribes. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any more details or feedback to give us!
Please give back the unsubscribe list with the date and reason! I was checking this weekly and I cannot keep my other records up to date without the unsubscribe date.
Hi there, I am trying to export my unsubscribe reports from the last month (to update our reservations system with the information) but it doesn't appear to be working.
Also, it would be really helpful if there was a function to export unsubscribed contacts by date, rather than having to go into each individual email report to extract the information. Is this possible?
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on the new Contacts tools. I have sent you an email asking for more information so we can best troubleshoot. If you are still having an issue exporting those unsubscribed contacts please get back in touch with myself or our support team. Our support team is available at 866-289-2101. Constant Contact’s Phone Support is available Monday – Thursday: 7a.m. – 11p.m. ET, Friday: 7a.m. – 9p.m. ET and Saturday – Sunday: 10a.m. – 8p.m. ET.
It would be helpful to choose the fields that are displayed on the default contact lists based on their purpose. For example on the Unsubscribed Contacts, having the date they unsubscribed would be useful. There is no way to sort or access this information now without waiting to download the entire list.
The lists within reports are grouped alphabetically but not sorted. Makes for a more laborious and error prone task to go back and clean some of the contacts.
Very tedious - they are not sorted properly alphabetically. AND you have to keep scrolling thru all the names even after you delete them, should be able to refresh and remove those names so your only viewing the ones remaining that need to be verified.
The date the person first subscribed to the list really doesn't make a difference - the date that s/he unsubscribed is what is important! Can you please show this without me going into each contact's profile?
The following would be extremely helpful:
1. I appreciate that I am able to export the Unsubscribed List to Excel. However, it would be EXTREMELY helpful if the spreadsheet included a column for the "Unsubscribed Date." The full list of unsubscribes is not nearly as useful as it could be if I could sort based on how recently they unsubscribed.
2. Along the same lines, I appreciate that I get a weekly report from CC that shows me the list of unsubscribes. Can you make that list exportable into Excel also?
I am trying to track the unsubscribes based on dates, and it is extremely tedious to do so the way that your data is currently made available. Thank you.
When running a report under the contacts tab for all the unsubscribers, it would be extremely helpful to see when the person unsubscribed, or at the very least, which campaign the unsubscribed from. Knowing if someone unsubscribed recently or if it was done years ago would be helpful if we reach out to them in other ways. Also, having the option to view their unsubscribe reason through the contact management export would be helpful as well. Not just seeing it from the email reporting page.
It really isn't important when the contact joined the list if they no longer want to be on it. What I need to know at a glance is when they unsubscribed.
This is an important issue that isnt getting any attention. The status of new idea for showing the unsubscribe date is false. I have brought this up several times in the past years. I will disagree however concerning when a person is added, It is important to my organization to know when a person is added.
We've been having contacts drop off our list, who say that they never clicked unsubscribed. We have no way of knowing how/why this is happening. It would be useful to be able to see a date and time stamp of when unsubscribes happen (without looking at the specific contact), so that we could see if there is a pattern, and see who else it is happening to.
Within the Unsubscribed Contacts List, there should be a column showing the unsubscribe date and we should be able to sort by this column. There should also be a column showing the unsubscribe reason (if given), doesn't have to show the entire text of the reason just a partial would be helpful, we can click on the contact to see the full reason if the partial is intriguing enough. Leave the other columns, it is helpful to see when they subscribed as compared to when they unsubscribed. Or even give column options and let each client have the option to customize their views by choosing the columns they want to see.
An option to Alphabetize Contact Names in "Unique Opens" is a needed tool. The only way to view contacts now is via the month they opened a campaign email. Please add this option!!!
This would be so very helpful ! Is there any report across campaigns that lists unsubscribes with dates and reasons currently? Looking at each campaign piecemeal really isn't very meaningful without having the big picture. Exporting single reports to external files and then merging hundreds of files is a ridiculous burden on the customer.
Hi @MarjorieV5, I'm sorry we don't have a cumulative report that pulls from multiple email campaigns at this time. We are, however, gathering feedback for our engineers on this request. In the meantime, you can allow those who unsubscribe to record their opt-out reason by turning on this option in My Settings. Here's a helpful resource with the step-by-step instructions.
I don't like having to export the unsubscribes report every time I want to see when someone unsubscribes. That's a lot of work to find one person. Please put a column on the page with opt out date. Thanks!
It would be nice to have the date an account/email address unsubscribed in the reporting/export. That way I could filter to a date range and study the unsubscribes in a relevant manner versus just all history since we started using CC.
As a workaround you can use the 'Last date modified' for the unsubscribe contacts to figure out when they were unsubscribed. If they are still in an unsubscribed state, the 'last date modified' would be the date the contact went into unsubscribed status.
Today, an email campaign had 12 unsubscribes, so I noted them in our CRM, Salesforce, check marked each contact in Constant Contact, selected "Manage Tags" and noted them as "Handled".
Now, there is 13 unsubscribes, and I can't tell which one is the new one and which ones I've already handled. I have to open them individually to see if they have been handled. This is VERY annoying and inconvenient. This was a nightmare on another email campaign since there were several new unsubscribes over the course of 2-3 weeks.
There needs to be a capability, such as a line through the email same as deleted emails on the bounced list, so I know which ones I've handled/noted in my CRM.
