All our emails suddenly going to Junk after years of use

Hi @Alanw102

I apologize for any confusion my previous response may have caused. We are aware of this experience users are having with contacts in Outlook 365. We are also working with Microsoft's Support to resolve this. At this time we do have limited information in terms of the specific cause of the issue. We do however know that when customers report experiences like this directly to Microsoft, the issue tends to resolve more quickly as this is happening on Microsoft's end.

Re: All our emails suddenly going to Junk after years of use

I understand how to prevent my own emails going to MY Junk folder - I can just move them from Junk to my Inbox, mark them not spam, and click on links inside them. It seems to tell Outlook that I want these in my Inbox.

The solution I'm looking for is how to keep Constant Contact emails that we're sending, out of the 10,000 recipients junk folders. Before mid-May 2019, we had a much higher open rate. I assume that's mainly because lots more emails are going to our recipient's junk folders. After my call with support, I understand that Constant Contact is working with Microsoft to solve this. Sure hope it happens quickly!

Hi @MargaretC18

I have taken a look at your account and can see you were able to connect with our Account Review Department about this as well. This support agent was able to share our workaround of adjusting your internal spam filtering settings and reporting to Microsoft directly. If you have any follow-up questions please give a call back in!

Re: All our emails suddenly going to Junk after years of use

OK, I have sent several emails that went to junk to not_junk@office365.microsoft.com, as you suggested. According to Microsoft, you have to attach the email (the one that went to junk) for them to be able to analyze it, so that's what I did.

Emails going to junk with Outlook

I'm at Cornell University we use constant contact to reach our users of our facility over 4,000 contacts.  At Cornell we use Outlook for email client.  I am getting numerous complaints over the last month about emails filtered to junk from our constant contact.  This is not happening as far as I can tell with gmail just outlook.  I have

a) updated the authenticate in the settings

b) changed the from email address to my personal email

c) removed all words in subjects that may cause this to go to junk

Still going to junk.  Need help.  Any suggestions

Re: Emails going to junk with Outlook

Hi @KathyD83

I apologize your emails are landing in this Junk Folder! I can understand how important it is for emails to be properly delivered. Are you sending to an outlook(dot)com or a private domain that uses Outlook Protection? Can you see verbiage at the top of the email explaining why it landed in spam? With that said, we have seen recent cases of deliverability issues with Outlook customers who use outlook protection for spam filtering.

Though we have limited information in terms of the specific cause of the issue, our Support is working directly with Outlook's support to resolve this as quickly as possible. Have you already opened a support ticket with Microsoft about this? Customers reporting this experience directly to Microsoft as well is an important step to take.

Re: Emails going to junk with Gmail

Not only are our emails being blocked or turned into spam in Outlook, but Gmail is now putting our newsletter into spam. Do other companies like Constant Contact have this problem? Asking for a friend.

Re: Emails going to junk with Outlook

Frankie -

I have been unable to get one of my newsletters with the verbiage on top, still working on it BUT a collaborator of ours MITEGEN who is also a Constant Contact customer sent me a newsletter 7/20 that went to my junk and has not been going to junk in the past I am pasting the code from that there you can see the MS is detecting the spam.

This is a serious issue for us, we went back and tracked our opens from Cornell.edu accounts and we dropped from 495 in May 2019 to 143 in July 2019.

I am reporting this to microsoft as well please update with what can be done to help.

Re: Emails going to junk with Outlook

we should not have to talk to Microsoft, Constant contact should.

They have completely dropped the ball with this.   Two months of a drop to 40% of openings from 60% and they have not done a **bleep** thing to help.

Where do I report this to microsoft?

Re: Emails going to junk with Outlook

Hi @KathyD83

Thank you for sharing these details with us! I have tracked this information in your account.  As a workaround we suggest marking the email as not spam, and adjusting your internal spam filtering settings. This helps Microsoft Office learn the emails is not spam. I apologize at this time we do not have a time estimate of when this will be resolved. As for your question on reporting this to Microsoft directly, this can be done through their website specifically under the section titled: Submit messages that were tagged as junk but should have been allowed through.
