We recently sent out a campaign to about 30 people. The analysis shows that 6 people didn't open the Email. I checked with each of them and one of the recipients told me that he opened it last Saturday, but yet it shows it wasn't opened on the Campaign data ??????
Great observation. The Did Not Open Report contains addresses that we couldn't verify as having opened the email. If an email address has images disabled (or set to manually download) or did not click on any links within the email then the email address would still show as unopened on our reporting data. It's also possible they might be reading the email through a preview window that would not trigger it as an Open as well. I would check with the contact and see how they are viewing your emails and if, at the very least, they manually download the images. If for some reason they say they are viewing the images and/or clicking on the links and they are still not registering as an open I would reach out to us at social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com with your username, the affected email address, and a reference to this post so we can dig a little deeper.
