Hi - please could someone advise us - if we for example have in my contacts say List A of total 700 email addresses; and I want to segment out 200 of those email addresses to List B and send them an email specific to those 200. If I leave the 200 in List A as part of that list, will CC count the 200 twice as part of my contacts? ie 700 and 200? (We are paying for 2500 and have about 1500 total, to give us some
growth) TIA that I could ask
Solved! Go to Solution.
That is a very good question, thanks for asking it to the Community! To answer it simply, you will only be charged for your Active number of contacts.
This means that you can have as many people (under 2500 of course) in as many lists as you'd like! We charge based upon Active contacts; each contact record that has an email address is an Active contact.
Hopefully that helps, and if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
Thanks for your quick response Gwendolyn - I used the info immediately - was just too busy to reply that moment
Hi @DebbieVG. I'm so glad that Gwendolyn was able to help you! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions.
I wonder if you can further explain why many of our Contacts receive multiple emails please? These Members do not have multiple email addresses, but they are in several different lists, e.g. they appear on the Member list, they appear on the Completed Survey list, they may also appear on Attended Field Day list; I select all 3 of those lists for distribution of a Newsletter because some Contacts only appear in one of those lists so I require them all.
According to your Help Centre and as per extract below, you have safeguards in place to prevent duplicate email addresses this doesn't indicate that CC can remove duplicate email addresses in one bulk email distribution such as a Newsletter.
Have you some advice for me please?
Contact Received Multiple Copies of an Email
Updated: January 26, 2017
Troubleshooting why a contact received duplicate copies of an email
Although Constant Contact has safeguards in place to prevent duplicate email addresses in your account, it's possible that a contact could receive multiple copies of an email. Here are a few possible causes, along with how you can fix them:
I'm sorry that you are encountering this. The article is correct and contacts shouldn't be receiving more than one email per send. Would you be able to send us an email at social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com including a reference to this post, your username, and as many details as you can provide about the problem, such as email addresses that received the duplicate copy and the names of the campaigns you saw this occur on. We will be happy to take a closer look and see why you are running into this. Please also let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
