Is there a way to get a clickable "forward to a friend" link in the body of the e-mail when you're NOT using a campaign?
We choose not to use CC's e-mail campaign for our daily news roundup which we send out every day -- just a lot easier to swap out the headlines / links in HTML code.
According to the Advanced Editor User Guide, we can use <forward></forward> and put the image source inside and that should be it. While the image renders properly, it doesn't turn the image into a clickable link.
Any suggestions, as the miniature "forward e-mail" text-only link that can be included in the auto-generated footer is quite small and easy to miss.
Hello @RaulN. I looked into your custom code email and I did see that the button you had inserted was not working. It looks like you are creating an HTML email which does require a different type of code to create the Forward to a Friend button. You will see that I did create a support copy of your email. This has the correct code inserted and the button is now working. The code that I used is:
<a href="hxxp://ui.constantcontact.com/sa/fwtf.jsp?m=$ACCOUNT.UID&a=$AGENT.AGENT_UID&ea=$SUBSCRIBER.EMAIL"><img src="hxxp://www.test.com/image.jpg"/></a>
I replaced the red text with the image URL that you wanted to use as the button. Also, you can replace the hxxp with http
Is there a way to generate that forward link for all CC accounts? We'd like to add it to one of the templates as a button?
Hello @First-NameL51278. It looks like you are using our newest editor, called the third-generation editor, to create your emails. Unfortunately, this editor does not have the ability to add in a forward to a friend button nor can we edit the HTML to add this in either. It is a feature request that we are collecting feedback on and I would be happy to submit your feedback over to the appropriate team.
I tried using this code (you provided for another user) for my own "forward to friend" button and it led to a 404 page. (I did replace the "xx" with "tt".) Is there a generic code that everyone can use with our individual (custom) HTML templates?
<a href="hxxp://ui.constantcontact.com/sa/fwtf.jsp?m=$ACCOUNT.UID&a=$AGENT.AGENT_UID&ea=$SUBSCRIBER.EMAIL"></a >
I'm glad that worked on the live send, I was double checking with teams here to see what could have been causing the problem, I'm glad that it was just the test-servers not inputting the link correctly. Glad it's working for you now!
