HTML in Third Generation Editor

Re: HTML in Third Generation Editor

Hi! I too would REALLY like to be able to edit the HTML with in the third-generation editor! It's something that absolutely makes my job easier. For instance, if a client gives me content to make an email out of and I do some editing for inline styles in Dreamweaver, I want to paste the code into a new campaign. Also, if I want to stylize bulleted lists (i.e., their indents), I would like to add inline styles. Also, please add functionality to be able to designate headers (font, size, color) in the campaign designer.

thanks!

Re: HTML in Third Generation Editor

I too built my entire email and then realized that there was no html editing option. Please make this available soon! Currently I'm wanting to edit my "mail to" button to include a subject and copy in the email - an easy update in html. Now I'm going to rebuild the entire email in a custom format.

Re: Is there a HTML code view to edit a Template?

What about in the editor menu that does not have the html option in it? I think there is a key command that will ring up the html. What is it?

Hello @American_Tapestry_Alliance. This option will not bring up the HTML for campaigns created in the third-generation editor. May I ask why you were looking to access the HTML for your campaign? I'd like to see if there is anything that we could assist with if you were looking to make specific changes to your campaign.

Re: HTML in Third Generation Editor

Hello @MandyS4. Luckily, you do not have to access the HTML to make this happen in our third-generation editor! Here is a link to our Help Center that will show you how to include a subject and body content when someone clicks on your mailto button. I will also submit your feedback over the appropriate team about being able to insert this text without having to include this code.

Re: HTML in Third Generation Editor

I find it very odd that I can reply to a message in your community with all the options I want to see in the Constant Contact Editor, but don't have access to those features where I really need them.  The current editor is much to simplified and does not allow me enough customization to appropriately address my customer's branding guidelines.  I cannot change styles of certain components without effecting the same type of component throughout the email.  I have used Constant Contact on and off for years for different customers, but I am now unable to continue to use it.  I am having to go with another product to meet my needs.  Very unfortunate, but with the minimalist version of the editor and without the ability to access the HTML, I am left with no other option.  I understand the benefits of the new editor, but it would be much better if you could turn on the additional features of the old editors in your account or something.

Re: Is there a HTML code view to edit a Template?

Not sure what the original poster's needs were, but personally, I'd like to be able to hand-edit code in the third-gen editor as well. Being able to alter the font stacks, set text line-heights, add alt-text to externally hosted images, etc. would be most helpful.
