Image URL not working when adding images.

When I add an image using a URL instead of an uploaded file, the image is not added. It will appear when I click preview, but when I click to insert Constant Contact defaults to the image that was last looked at in the available uploaded images. This only happens in the new template builder.

Thank you for posting about this. This is a new issue that we have recently become aware of.  I have tracked this within your account, and if you would like can set up notification to go to you when this is resolved. The current workaround to use the image is to save it to your library until this issue is resolved.

I am having the same problem with URL images not displaying anymore.  They just stopped working on our templates last week.  Old copied emails over to new ones still display the URL images but once you make a change to an URL image, then that image will not show. 

 

It seems you guys have changed something in your code.  They display in preview mode but once they are emailed off to people they don't show.

 

It concerns me that this issue was reported over a year ago by the above poster.

 

If this feature for URL images is not appart of Constant Contact then we will need to look for another service.  We must have this feature.  To many images to upload and erase from your servers.

We have been adding images by using the URL of the image files which are stored on our servers.  This is more efficent to have our images for all correspondents in one location.

Steps

1. Replace image button

2. Image URL tab.

3. Enter URL of image locatied on our servers

4. Click preview

5. Insert button.

Hi @YIImportsIncm. Thanks for your reply. When you say that the images "don't show", is it possible that your contacts don't have images download automatically in their email client? Unfortunately, there isn't a way to control this to have images download automatically but you can include a text block at the top of your email, asking contacts to download images in order to view your campaign fully. We definitely understand how important images are to your campaigns!

Thank you for trying to determine the problem and coming up with a solution but this it not is happening.  It is client's email viewer.

 

The images will show in email builder and show  in the preview mode.  If you save the email and exit the builder.  The thumbnail snap shot of the email doesn't show any URL images.  Also if you send a test email to any email client's viewer, the images will not display also.

 

We have verified this by building an email with a combination of stored images on your server and URL linked images.  The URL images don't show while the stored ones still do.

 

Test it yourself, let me know the out come.
