Hello folks! I'm new here and have been an Aweber user for years. Thought I would try another platform. I noticed that when I send a test email, whether it is a Constant Contact template or something I have modified with my own images (uploaded to Constant Contact through my account), I get an "Images Are Not Displayed - Display Images below" message when it arrives and opened in my GMail.
I have already checked the Settings and my GMail is set to display all images automatically. I don't seem to have this problem with email coming from AWeber or Infusionsoft, so what is the issue?
Please advise... and don't send me to the obsolete email client tutorial.
Welcome to Constant Contact! I'm sorry about that! I'm glad you're settings in Gmail are set. I ran some testing and found that I was able to receive a test copy with images displaying. Another common reason why images may not display are security program filters. I'd like to share an article: Whitelisting Constant Contact Website with your Security Program which describes how to update a security program settings. This is my question also. Surely most of the Constant Contact emails don't experience this limitation in Gmail? None of the email newsletters I receive from other mailers have this error.
Welcome back to the Community! Thank you for reaching out to us! I would also recommend White listing Constant Contact as stated above. If in fact all your setting are turned on to accept photos, then this would be the next best step to resolve this issue. If you're still experiencing this issue after that then please email us as Social_support(at)Constantcontact(dot)com so we can troubleshoot further.
I too have this concern. It seems like previous answers in this thread are actually dancing around the question... It isn't a good answer to say I should change my gmail settings, because nobody is going to do that who receives the email. Makes sense, right?
My concern is that I am sending out more than 1,500 emails, and when I receive this same email, the images are not displaying. Instead I have to click on a link in my gmail that allows me to see the images. Every click is frankly precious time and not guaranteed by the user, and if I can't be assured that Constant Contact has the answer to this question, then I might end up looking at other email platforms.
The email I am sending from Constant Contact is the one and only email that I have received in the last few years that has this function; all others fully display in my gmail. I am concerned that Constant Contact might not have a work around function to allow for displaying images in gmail. Is this possible?
Thank you for bringing your concerns to the community! You're right, most contacts will not make changes to their settings in order to better view marketing emails, but in most cases this is not necessary. Something that frequently will cause your emails to show without emails is actually much more simple than a 'settings' problem. When you send test emails to yourself, often your 'from' address will be the same as your 'too' address. Since our tests do not have the same authentication settings, this can mean that Gmail thinks someone is essentially just 'pretending' to have your address, and they turn up their security accordingly. If you send your test emails to a gmail address other than the 'from' address, you will most likely see the issue resolved there.
If you send a test email to an address other than the 'from' address, and you still see that images are not displaying, then there are still a few things you can do to try to improve your delivery rate, and reduce the chances of your email being clipped, or having it's images hidden. We've created this walk-through on some of the other ways to avoid hidden images and email clipping.
I have been using constant contact for more than 7 years now, and I also find this problem of not displaying pictures in gmail, and I am thinking it might be the problem caused by some of the new templates.
The old template that I always use is Legacy Newsletter Email, and it is fine with all the images, even a GIF also ok. But when I am using one of the new templates, some of the images are not displaying on gmail.
I saved all images to be the minimum sizes, tried using my own server to host the images, gmail setting done, also send to different email accounts to do the testing. I don't know the exact reason, but this is quite frustrating as I am impressed by the new templates, but sometimes it stops me to try them out as the images not showing properly for some reasons.

I took a peek at your account and was able to see the images in each test email. Because I was not able to replicate what you have described, I suggest Whitelisting Constant Contact Website with your Security Program. We have seen in the past security settings and filters that can cause images to not display as previously mentioned in this thread.
If you're still experiencing this issue after that then please email us as Social_support(at)Constantcontact(dot)com with your username, a screenshot of your email, the name of the campaign you're working on and a reference to this post. With these details we would be able to troubleshoot further.
I have been using Constant Contact for a very long time; and had the same issue: images not displaying in Gmail. I did try to fix it by following suggestions mentioned in many of such conversations.
Finally, I did notice this:
When you send a test email to yourself ; use a different gmail id of yours in the cc: block. You will see images appearing in your gmail.
