My newsletter is set up with a dark blue background and white type, to match my branding. But every newsletter I send, I get a few emails from customers saying they can't read the newsletter because my type is now black on dark blue. The emails I send myself are correct when I check on my laptop, the one I checked on my phone was black/blue with one email, correct with another. It's very inconsistent. Why is this happening and how do I make it stop?

Thank you for reaching out to the Constant Contact Community. It's my pleasure to assist you today.
I'm sorry for the issue you are experiencing with your email. I know how important it is to have your colors uniform across platforms. I have taken a look at your email and I do see that the font changes on my mobile device. Can you email us at social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com with your username, the name of the email, a reference to this post, and which platforms you are seeing the black background on? I will then take a deeper dive into this email to get the issue resolved for you.
Thank you and have a great day.
I too have this issue and don't see a solution. Can you tell me what the problem is? in my case, I have it set to white but when my colleague looks at it or when I open it up in certain browsers/devices, it's a solid color. Why don't I get what I see when I design it?
I’m sorry you are experiencing this as well, and we would like to further investigate this for you. Please send us an email to social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com with your username, the name of the email campaign, if the text was copied from another source, and which browsers/devises you’re viewing it on. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
Thank you for coming to the community with your concerns! I agree, I wish we had a single answer to this problem that we could share everywhere. Unfortunately, there are a large number of different issues that could possibly be causing those display issues. The most common are something like the email client converting text into a link, like to a calendar, phone number, or map program. There are also problems that can be caused by copy/pasting text from a website, or other source with incompatible html, or in some cases by system issues with our legacy editor. To determine the exact cause of the problem, we just need more information than is reasonable to put into a community post, so it's in general easier for everyone involved, to have us look at the email, and determine what is causing the problem.
Information we would need to try to diagnose without looking at it directly, would be:
Exactly what text is changing, and what color was it/does it turn to.
What email client(s) and device(s) are you seeing the problem on?
Are you using the Legacy editor, or our newer Newsletter Editor? (If it's in the legacy editor, a copy of the html could help us see the problem as well).
What was the original source of the content? (eg. PDF, website, previous email, etc.)
Of course, you can also email us directly at social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com with your Username, the name of the last email you had this problem with, and a reference to this post, and we can investigate internally here to save you that time and effort.
Basically what they told us is to use a "fresh" template each month. What we were doing is copying a previous template, changing the words and pictures, and sending. Copying and recopying again and again, just waters down the code and messes things up. (I am NOT the IT person or tech person here!) But since we've been starting fresh each month from one template, the problem has been resolved.
Thanks for sharing your solution with our other members! You are correct, using the same template too often can cause changes and will overwrite some of the HTML coding. This can cause many unexpected display issues, including the font changes you were experiencing. So happy to hear our support team was able to help you avoid these font changes. Please let us know if there is anything else in your account we can assist with.
I am having the same problem. On my computer and phone the font color is charcoal (the color that I chose) but on other phones and emails it shows up bright blue (similar to a hyperlink but it isn't a hyperlink). Can you please advise how I should solve this?
I am so sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue as well. We would be happy to look further into this for you. Would you also please send an email to social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com with your username, the name of the email, a reference to this post, and which platforms you are seeing this issue?
We'll take a look and see what may be going on. Thanks!
