Printing a CC Newsletter

Hello-
I belong to an organization that for a long time has had a paper newsletter; a year ago we talked some of the elders into sending the bulk via pdf and reducing hardcopies.  The long time editor recently advised me of his desire to retire and as I explore next steps, I'd prefer that the newsletter be created and distributed in/via CC; however I will still need the ability to have a printer-friendly version.  I obviously dont want to have to create two different versions... have any others had similar situations and how did you resolve?

In the preview window, there is a 'view printable version' link down at the bottom below the boxes for address and comments. However, that will simply print the email as it appears. You might be able to 'print' the document to something like a pdf converter, but that will depend on the specifics of your computer and the software that you have installed. Hope this helps, Brad www.bradfordhnicoll.com

I was able "view printable version" and print to a color printer and also "print to pdf" but the color template disappeared in both methods. So I'm going back to mail email and cutting and pasting in to another file like Word.

I have the same problem. I need a print version as well and need to know the easiest way. I guess it cannot automatically format to A4 size since it would require a lot of re-formating, but if you find a solution, please let me know by email:  Manu

I save my pdf as a jpg, then upload the jpg and insert it into the body of the email. I still have my pdf for people to print and under the jpg I put a line that says "click here for a printable version" which opens up the pdf. Note that hyperlinks that might be in the pdf stay even when you do a "save as .jpg". May not be the correct way, but it works and my staff still has the pdfs they can reference and print if necessary.

Re: Printing a CC Newsletter

I have the same problem. We've replaced our printed church newsletter with a Constant Contact enewsletter, so now we don't have anything to send to our members who don't do email.  Simply printing the enewsletter isn't good because pictures get split across pages and links aren't relevant, among other things. What I'm looking for is an easy way to copy an enewsletter into an easily editable form suitable for printing.

Re: Printing a CC Newsletter

In order to provide a quality printed newsletter to my clients I've found that in almost all cases it requires a two step creation process.  The aspect ratio, pagination, resolution and general size differences are just too dissimilar.  The good news is that the copy is available as a result of having created the email or visa-versa.

So how do you do it, specifically?

Re: Printing a CC Newsletter

Microsoft Publisher is used to create the hard copy version and then its printed on a color laser and either mailed to a list of addresses the client provides or delivered / shipped to the client.
