Thank you for bringing your query to the Community forum. I'm sorry that this has been happening to you but we can certainly let you know what's going on. Facebook recently changed their API which now auto-selects the image for your Social Share posts. While we are actively working on a solution for this, we suggest using the Short URL for your campaign to create a manual post on Facebook. This way, you can choose the image that is associated with your post. Let us know if you have any further questions!
I understand that since July 17 there has been a problem w/ posting photos when an email is shared to FB. It's already one and a half months since this problem began and the notice says you working on fixing the problem. What is taking so long? It doesn't feel like I'm getting my money's worth if a problem like this isn't resolved in a timely matter, which at this point has come and gone. Please advise. Thank you.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community.
I am sorry for the delay is finding a workable solution to this recent change. When various social media sites make changes to their policies we have to adapt accordingly and in some cases we are at the whim of the change on the social media site. Please Click Here for some more information in regards to this change.
All of this said, we will send you an email once this has been resolved. Again, I do apologize for the delay and inconvenience. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
Thank you for using Constant Contact, have a great day!
I called recently to ask why some photos are downloading while others aren't. I've had Constant Contact for several years now and never had this issue until recently. The spokesperson told me it was a problem and their engineers were investigating trying to fix the problem. I wasn't the only one I guess. How's it going. I just did tried to download two photos and they didn't load into Twitter or Facebook.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I apologize for the experience you're having with sharing your emails on your social media accounts. This is something that happens due to Facebook's recent changes to help with false articles from being posted. These changes cause Facebook to auto-pick the image, title, and description for your Social Share posts. While we do not have a time estimate of when this will be fixed as this is something we are still actively looking into. In the mean time, we also do suggest to manually post your emails by their Share URLs. I also did want to note that I took a peek at your Twitter account and can see the image you selected is showing.
I am a long time user of Constant Contact. I seem to have developed a problem with the platform.
I sent out an email this morning and the email posted like this... on all platforms.
When you click on the link this is the link that comes up ...
It's a dead link.
We're very sorry your Social Share posts didn't display properly. Some of our customers have been experiencing a system issue with posts shared specifically to Facebook and our programmers are working to get it fixed as soon as possible. (I have added your account to be notified as soon as it is.)
In the meantime, you can manually post your email campaign to Facebook using the Permanent Email URL. Click Campaigns, then Status, then Sent. Find the email campaign you want to share, click the link icon next to the email's name and copy it:
Now you can create your own post on Facebook using that URL as the link to your email campaign.
NO picture when using socialshare for email campaign to Facebook How can I fix this it looks like absolutely Horrible.
Thank you for contacting us on the Community!
I apologize that Facebook has recently changed the way that photos post through Social Posts. Facebook will no longer allow you to customize the image for posts made with Social Posts that contain a link, here is an article on the recent change.
You can do a manual post by posting the short URL link directly into the status of your Facebook page and selecting the photos you would like off of your computer. I have attached a screenshot showing how to retrieve the short URL form Constant Contact. To retrieve the short URL click on the title of the campaign you wish to share and then click on the more actions tab.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!
Yesterday, Dec. 2, I downloaded a photo on CC. It did not download into Facebook. It’s hit and miss. I had tp paste URL to my Facebook Page and download photo manually. Not sure why I’m paying CC.
