Hello @KathyM7514. I'm sorry that this happened to you. Here is a link that shows you how to change a registrant's status in your event. I also recommend activating CAPTCHA in your event so you can prevent this from happening again. This will be located under your Event Basics and you will want to check "Prevent spam by adding reCAPTCHA".
