Why is CC inserting coloured backgrounds into the email?
We have sent a newsletter out, and found that when it is forwarded, a coloured background is inserted that makes it impossible to read. We did not insert the background, it seems to be automatically appearing. See image. How can we get rid of this?
I'm sorry to hear that you are seeing these display issues once that email is forwarded. Some email clients (such as the one you are using) reformat the HTML code of an email after it has been forwarded. In most cases this is not an issue and forwarded emails display just fine. Also, in some cases the email server can break or reformat the code once the email is forwarded. All of this said, unfortunately this is something that we are unable to control as the issue happens on the receiving end. Ultimately it comes down to the fact that different email clients display HTML in different ways and this is further complicated when an email is forwarded.
One thing that I would suggest including in your email is a link to the web page version. This would ensure that folks who may receive a forwarded copy are able to see the email in it's entirety. Click Here for more information on including a web page link within your email.
I sure do wish that there was more that we could do to assist with this one. Please let us know if you have additional questions. Thank you for using Constant Contact, have a great day!
