I wanted to chime in on this thread regarding the lack of Forward to a Friend in the third-generation editor. The simplest answer is that due to lack of usage in our previous editor (both our users inserting this link, and recipients using this link) we decided not to implement the feature. We also wanted to solve for cases where this feature was used as a workaround (such as getting around possible display issues), with other features or improvements to the editor. With our current editor being under active development, we want to focus on the latest and greatest features that will bring as much value as possible to our users. While I can understand that some users found this feature valuable, our plan is not to rebuild the second-generation editor, but rather to learn from its mistakes/successes to create a new, best-in-class editor.
To address some of the concerns around the lack of this feature:
I love all the feedback I’ve been reading on the third-generation editor and the team is looking forward to continuing to deliver awesome new features into 2018. Stay tuned for some great new features coming out first thing in January!
Yes, please add the Forward option back! I send our existing newsletter to potential subscribers to show them what it's like; I've just changed to a new email template and discovered today that I can't forward it. Very frustrating. :-(
We will be sure to submit that feedback for you. In the meantime, your recipients can still use the forward option with their email client, to send your emails to their contacts.

Thanks for passing the feedback on. I know my recipients can forward it; it's just not much help to me when I want to send it to prospective subscribers.
When an email is forwarded without benefit of a button, the receiver of the forwarded message is able to unsubscribe the original email address -- so my account is down a user, and the person engaged enough to be forwarding messages is then unsubscribed from my list.
Very frustrating indeed. Can't say I am happy with Constant Contact these days. Waiting for a LONG time for them to revamp their survey feature. Archaic and impossible and with free survey services out there you'd think it would be a priority for them! Frustrated.
I mentioned this in another thread, so apologies if you're reading it twice.
A help answer from a CTCT person just a few days ago said it is there; no mention of having to be on the third generation editor.
Thank you for replying back. I responded to your mention on the other thread. The "Forward to a Friend" functionality is only available on the Legacy template. At this time, the Third Generation editor does not include this functionality. I hope this information has helped. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
I do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. The reason why the "Forward to a Friend" option was left out of the new editor was because of its low usage. Also, we have improved the ability for our templates to maintain formatting/consistency when simply just using the forward the email option located in the email clients. I have however, tracked this feature request to your account to notify our developers. Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience.
Forwarding from their email server causes the background to be copied for the new email. When it is dark, you can't read the text. Also, we have no idea who they sent it too. Please make available again.
